  1. http://www.fragfestohio.com I know I know, its the FF site. I finally got the Flash Media Player shell that I have been working on coded correctly. I did the flash actions and the skin. I was also pleasantly suprised with the banner graphic I did as well.
  2. all pics were taken while movin most above 35 mph so could be better..
  3. For the economically challenged: http://www.gimp.org/ I've only used it under Linux. Seems worthy.
  4. My wife wanted to do some family portraits to be able to send out to grandparents. So I set up the tripod, hooked the camera to the laptop via Nikon Capture Control (I think that's the name of the software) and we had our own little photoshoot. Here's some of the better ones:
  5. this is a fun link to look through on fridays http://www.somethingawful.com/photoshop/ every friday there is a week long contest of different subjects, funny stuff they do things like, "the biggest movie of the year" peple then send in submissions of movie posters turned fat kinda funny, see below
  6. Stumbled upon these today. Pretty amazing. http://bb.nsmb.com/showthread.php?t=67781&highlight=panorama
  7. The dell store has it for about 350 but instant codes take the camera down to 249. Dell $349 - 23% off 7P$J7GBPL4V$M6 $20 off $200 1P002ZF2T7QPD0 (must use paypal) = $249.
  8. I have been talking photography with a guy I recently met at work. He just transferred to our office. Anyway, I went by this morning and he had some pictures up in his cube now. I almost fell over looking at them. They are awesome. Here is his webgallery: http://www.deepseagalleries.com Just a small note, from looking at his pictures in his cube to seeing the digital copies on his website, it is now oh so apparent to me how much vibrance can be lost from a picture in that translation from film to digital. I wish there was a way to show you guys the prints in his office....just amazing.
  9. -slashdot haven't had the chance to look through it yet, but sounds intriguing.
  10. Anyone know of a great site that is trustworthy and a good place to purchase digital cameras? Maybe a sticky thread on where to get this stuff. I do know overstock.com is a good site for just about everything. Anyone have anything else? EDIT: I forgot about CNET. They keep a great page of price ranges and reviews and categorized by Mega Pixel (which has become a marketing ploy in digital photography now) http://reviews.cnet.com/Digital_cameras/2001-6501_7-0.html
  11. Hmmm....I just copy pasted from a different thread... *****This is Saris's work***** Anime artist with the first post up!! >< Been drawing for 3 years now, started when I was grounded for like, 6 months, got bored out of my mind and started to draw my own comic. Since then, all I've ever done in all of my classes is sit in the back and draw pictures. Only recently have I begun working with photoshop and the computer to make images, and it was a rocky start at first, but I thought it was great in my time, to finally have coloured pictures. This is one of the first pictures I ever did, I'm a little embarrassed to post it because of how terrible it is, but it was a scanned image, coloured with a brush using a 50-60% opacity to maintain the shading I had already done with pencil. As you can see, the result was less than optimal. I stuck with this way of colouring for some time because I was a little paranoid of drawing pictures solely on the computer. I then went into a bunch of chibi (mini-sized anime) when I started to make another comic and an RPG with RPG Maker XP. The one of the far left is Saris! >< Anyway, not going to post much more cause I got 1000 pictures on my computer. Eventually, I've gone fully computerized, and use 4-layered colouring (border line colour, light colour, in-between colour and dark colour.) then use a very dark shade of colour at a very light opacity to do the shading. Here are the results of my two latest pics with that technique:
  12. Ok, in response to the idea of sharing one's work I created this subforum. Feel free to post up your pics or artwork so that others can see your work and give some positive feedback. Sorry...guess I didn't clearly state the intentions for this forum. My thoughts are for people to post a picture, or piece of art work (or several themed pieces) in their own thread and then people can reply with feedback, criticism, props, etc. I went ahead and moved your anime work to its own thread Saris to start this process and hopefully better portray my vision for this forum.

This is the website that belongs to the magazine Computer Arts. Im new to the site but the magazine contains a lot info. They keep up on the trends, have people from all over the world in the industry contribute with articles and tutorials. The tutorials are good and the magazine cd comes with the resources to complete them. The cd also comes with some royalty free stock photos. Feel free to post your links and I'll add them to the list. You can add categories as well.
  14. Ok, so the new forum is up, lets make some use of it. I plan on pinning a topic soon that we can use to house links to tutorial and informational sites. Stand by for that. Since I'm getting into Photography, I'll make the first thread about photography. Photography is about 10% camera and 90% timing and eye, nevertheless you gotta have a camera to take the pictures. So, what kind of equipment do you use/own?
