  1. It's to the point where I get angry every time i play warfare. break time. 20fps in loaded servers, frequent lockups (we're talking reset button), poorly designed vehicles, crappy noob-friendly bottlenecking spam maps... I've tried my best to have an optimistic attitude toward this game, even posting about the good qualities it has... truth is though, overall the game (namely warfare) seems rushed, buggy, imbalanced... just cheap! I still felt annoyed even when i won matches tonight... ?? I've had to spend hours tweaking every possible setting in the INI files just so my computer that is less than a year old can play it with the lowest settings possible (uglier than 2k4) at 2 Unless there is some miracle patch that makes this game likeable, or some seriously aweseome maps come out, I'm probably going to keep this game in garage in my yardsale box. Sorry to be a grouch about it, but this game wasn't ready for retail sale and it almost seems like a crime to release something so bad and call it "unreal". Then again, the only unreal i ever played was 2k4 and didn't care a lot for the others.. maybe i never belonged
  2. Who's up for forming a team and practicing say once a week and forming some strats? We could spend the first few practices sharing tips/tricks and learning the vehicles a little better. PS: Can we get a private forum for this?
  3. Did you get it too? Some time ago one of you suckas conned me into signing up for a UT3 newsletter for some reason I can't remember. (I actually think it's Wentz but I'm not gonna point any fingers ) Now that the game is out I'm getting Midway spam for all of it's wonderful products. Best thing is it won't let me unsubscibe. Yes I know that's what my spam filter in my email proggy is for but this seems more dirty then the typical spam for firmer, larger breasts.

  5. I was on the server last night and it would occasionally lock up, and sometimes I would lose connection. Has anyone else experienced this? it sounds like a problem from my ISP.

  10. A couple of nights ago I faced a nightshade that was used very well by an opponent. I had spiders drilling on my face, green force shield blocking travel areas, and emp that shut down my viper and hurled me off of it. This does not count the number of times I have been run over by one. I even had a Darkwalker killed by a night shade using it's secondary weapon (whip laser? thingy) butting against my Darkwalker legs. Darkwalkers cannot shoot directly down and I find the secondary gunner on Darkwalker to be real weak. My questions are these 1.How far does the secondary fire shoot on nightshade and what damage does it do? I feel it is too much of a giveaway to cloaked vehicles other than killing trap devices of another nightshade or attacking nodes. Uncloaked nightshade twice as fast as cloaked nightshade. 2.Do the traps die when the nightshade is destroyed or do they last after the demise of the nightshade? Think of doing a suicide at floodgate core. Cover whole area with emp traps to effectively rob them of their vehicles (nightshade, vipers, darkwarkers) for a long while. I expect to die in the process but need to know if devices will last after me. 3.Any listing for weapon damages? Ut2004 shocker did like 45 while lg did 90. Any listing for ut3 weapons so I know which weapons give the best bang for the circumstances.

  12. After 2 weeks (sigh) my UT3 came today. Was it worth the wait? Played for a couple of hours of Warfare to night but when I was done, I was seeing how much they were going for on Ebay.

  14. I am starting to notice the usual 10% of idiots on the server using foul language and name calling, when will the server get cleaned up?
  15. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2230938,00.asp Hmmm I will also post the link to the UT3 forum thread where about a bazillion people with more than adequate hardware fall into an unfortunate group of folks that have horrible FPS issues online, as well as on "instant action" maps. I've posted about it before, but to summarize, many people with great hardware are experiencing uncharacteristic slowdowns and slideshow like FPS when they shouldn't. For me, it almost never happens on "Nepenthe." (What the hell is the name of our new GC server...? Warchild? Wasn't he one of the surfers that, along with Anthony Kedis tries to beat up Keanu Reeves in "Point Break?") But, it happens on a lot of other servers and on my own machine. I have newest drivers for EVERYTHING on my compy plus the latest patches...but no dice. NE ways... If this crap keeps up, I'm ditching UT3 for at least 3 months, until they get it straight.   16. I'm confused at time with what happens to the orb when you bring it into a node. I understand that as long as it's a linkable node it's instantly yours at full power. What I don't understand is that happens after that? Sometimes it stays in your possession and continues to charge the node until you leave with it but other times it seems to disappear. What makes it disappear or what am I missing???
  17. The graphics on UT3 are not as clear as UT2K4, I don't know what Epic was shooting for but they seem a little blurred to me, I run mine at 1920 x 1200 with a ATI 9800 Pro 256mb.

  20. 1) We got patched to the beta 3 version of the first patch. I don't know why. No need to roll back since it seems to play nicely but have firmly instructed no mas on teh betas. 2) Necris versions of Torlan, Serenity and the other one are now votable. 3) I'd say it was the end of the semester finals rush to explain why no players the last two days, but that just covers Dark and myself I think... Hard to believe we are still so highly ranked when we go a day or two without players. -Fk
  21. 1) It cooks when we start it. And that is the key - if some one could poke the damn thing between 5 and 7 pm, that should do it. Given the limited # of servers out there, we're pretty good for bodies right now. 2) Admining. Admins, if you need the pw, let me know and start getting some of the riff raff out. 3) Mostly unplayable for me. Yeah yeah, teach me to open my mouth but for most of last night the game just flickered all to hell. If I want epilepsy, I'll do it the old fashioned way with Japanese cartoons, a large dose of sugar, and a few swift kicks to the head. Gonna nuke all vestiges of the drivers and get the latest and then still wait for the patch (when is that getting here - beats me ) Not exactly server related but - eh...   24. So what happens when you partner your game with Gamespy. You rely on them to handle all of your account management and your server browser. So guess what happens when gamespy server goes down... PEOPLE CAN'T PLAY YOUR GAME!!! Since you can't login, you can't join an online game. You can't even go to your history (beta patch) and pick a server to play on when the server browser goes down. Stupidest decision ever. Let's put the most critical part of accessing our game online in the hands of another company that has proven unrealiable in the past. <rant over> Downtime today was only 30mins but...
  25. I've been reading around the UT forums and many are experiencing the Flickering and Freezing problem. Any of you experiencing the same thing? I'm able to play normally for like a match or two then I start to get the flickering mostly in the background. I play mostly Warfare maps. I just keep playing sometimes until it gets unbearable. In some cases, if they game finishes and a new map starts, it will be fine for several minutes then the flickering starts once again. I don't get the freeze-up that some members are getting. I just get the flickering. There are lots of discussions on this issue. Anyone having problems? It's nice to play with some of you once again.
