The chemicals in the dust have been linked to neurological damage to lab rats, damaged the brains of foetuses and have been connected with autism. The problem is that the retardants don't degrade easily. Of grave concern is the research showing that women in North America have the highest levels globally of these chemicals in their breast milk and evidence continues to mount about their effect on the neurological and endocrine systems.
