Kilzugud September 18, 2005 Share Kilzugud Member September 18, 2005 ok guys, nick contacted me earlier and asked how he would be able to get you guys goin on CAL and other things like it. here is the link for CAL...... http://www.caleague.com/ right now the season is obviously closed, we are on week 7 right now out of 8 weeks. however, you guys can register and prepare for the next season. Once you guys get registered then you can use IRC to line up scrims and such. It is a start. I know the rules and all that info are in there, you just have to look around. you will also need a team cpt. and so on. every player that is going to play needs to register with thier info and thier steam i.d. so on...... another great thing to get involved with is the TWL 5 v. 5 ladder. the rules for that are also in there, its all pretty self-explanitory. here is the link for that.... http://www.teamwarfare.com/addplayer.asp also, every player will have to register thier also. after you register go under your preferences and make sure you add your steam i.d. before you register a team. all players must have thier steam i.d.s in both TWL and CAL. this is simply to make sure all the ppl playin are supposed to be the ones on the team. getting started may take just a little bit of time and a little bit of reading, but once you get started, its all smooth sailin from there. as far as learning strats and running scrims..... i know that there are some of us( myself included) from csls that will help out in any way we can...... we cant give away all of our strats, but we can help you with some and scrim with you guys when you get going. keep in mind all you scopeless players...... there are scopes in all brackets of all competitions..... i had to get used to this. the best place to practice with an awp or a scoped weapon is a deathmatch server. i hope this info is enough to get you guys all started. let me know if there are anymore questions and i will try and help in any way i can. good luck guys!!! Kilzugud September 18, 2005 Author Share Kilzugud Member September 18, 2005 ok it looks like they are running 3 to 4 seasons a year. i am not sure what exact time you have to register, however, i know that you cant register a team or the players until after the season is over and right b4 the nxt one starts. so i would have someone designated as a cpt. and have them keep an eye out for the info. if i hear anything between now and then i will let you guys know. another suggestion.... i wouldnt recommend playing at all without some kind of third party communication program. we were using teamspeak up till a week ago and now we all switched over to ventrillo. its your guys's personal preference. i think you get a better "real voice" sound out of ventrillo and its a little sharper. either one is excellent though. here is the link for ventrillo...... http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php here is the link for TS...... http://www.goteamspeak.com/downloads.php also, TWL looks like it is open all year long and is just an ongoing thing. its pretty cool how it works. we have our first match on sunday next week so i will let you know how the competition is then. good luck, hope its a start and let me know if there is anything else i can help with.
