auggybendoggy May 15, 2006 Share auggybendoggy Member May 15, 2006 Guys, in my church our new worship leader is a charismatic (our chuech is baptist) : ) It brings me back to the old studies I did on this issue due to family who believed there are 2 kinds of tounges; prayer language and gift of tounges. It's interesting that I can find no scripture that supports this idea, still yet many seem to find that the bible supports the Idea. I am not one who believes the gifts are no longer here today however I do agree with John Mcarthur that Hebrews 2 supports that the miraculous gifts were for testifying what the apostles were saying. John goes too far by saying they are no longer used but I do think they are not as popular as many think. I certainly don't believe that IT IS THE MARK OF THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. I believe it was a sign (as hebrews 2 says) that they had received the baptism of the holy spirit. Anyhow, This issue is arising in our church. Anyone ever go through this?
