Asphyxiator March 9, 2003 Share Asphyxiator Member March 9, 2003 Knoppix, is a cool alternative to those who want to try a full featured Linux OS on their computer without any installation. This is the coolest thing ever. Its an entire Linux OS with GUI, that boots up quick and has 1.5 gigs of software compressed onto a CD. You run the entire OS from the CD. It is surprisingly fast. I couldnt believe it, but it is so compressed that any given file is only about half its uncompressed size on the CD. It comes with stuff like wine and multimedia functions. Works with most hardware.
