Batman May 29, 2010 Share Batman Member May 29, 2010 Ok get this, I have two partitions Win7 on C and XP on D. I reinstalled Win7 and somehow D changed from being a system boot extended partition to now a Logical Drive and wont boot my XP system.. I don't want to loose the XP system I have, I was able to make D a bootable partition once again. BUT I am unable to change the boot path, it's not pointing to winxp right now.. Anyone know how to change the path?
bushwack May 29, 2010 Share bushwack Member May 29, 2010 (edited) I have been using EasyBCD. I had the same issue. Just fire up BCD (I'm using 2.0 beta) and add XP back to the Entries section, when it askes some specifics, I'm thinking I did Auto and worked like a snap. Save and restart. Batman May 29, 2010 Author Share Batman Member May 29, 2010 Bushwack, I'm using EasyBCD build 97. What does your xp path look like? It sets mine up like this "Bootloader Path: \NTLDR" It's a invalid target..
bushwack May 30, 2010 Share bushwack Member May 30, 2010 (edited) Bushwack, I'm using EasyBCD build 97. What does your xp path look like? It sets mine up like this "Bootloader Path: \NTLDR" It's a invalid target.. There are a total of 2 entries listed in the bootloader. Default: Windows 7 Timeout: 30 seconds. Boot Drive: C:\ Entry #1 Name: Windows 7 BCD ID: {current} Drive: C:\ Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe Entry #2 Name: Microsoft Windows XP BCD ID: {9679c25b-f24f-11de-81f3-85a430e96d2} Drive: C:\ Bootloader Path: \NTLDR Whether it matters or not, I have Win7 on my C: partition and XP on F: partition.
