Getting rid of fog and blurryness

Hello there, long time player, first time poster.

 

One of my big issues with csgo compared to source is the ever present fog that brings my fps into the barely playable range in addition to blurring far away enemies. I also take issue with the overprocessed graphics blurring everything together. I believe both of these are a detriment to the game from a competitive standpoint.

 

Fortunately, the game is still in its infancy and we have the opportunity to change that. This site: http://64bitvps.com/csgo/ was created with valve's blessing to help keep clutter off the valve forums and to give valve a way to accurately determine what fixes it should implement and prioritize. There are currently two tickets on it related to this, one to allow post processing to be disabled: http://64bitvps.com/csgo/ticket/post-processing-should-be-allowed-to-be-disabled-to-allow-clearer-fields-of-view-2/, and one for the fog: http://64bitvps.com/csgo/ticket/fog-should-be-removed-from-the-game-to-increase-visibility-of-players-that-are-far-away/.

 

The fog I can understand some opposition to since some people like it. That's fine with me because the community will sort it out themselves by releasing _se maps with no fog that leagues and pubs that support it can use. However there was and continues to be no reason to force the blurry post processing on everyone.

 

So if you have an opinion one way or another, I encourage you to vote on these. Signing into your steam account on it is kind of a hassle since you have to get a code from your email like if you were using a separate computer, but it's not too bad.

 

Also, http://64bitvps.com/csgo/ticket/when-you-kill-a-player-on-the-enemy-team-with-the-same-team-tag-as-you-the-kill-will-count-as-friendly-fire-and-you-will-lose-money-for-a-teamkill/ this is somewhat important to note if you like to use a tag in-game, but I get the feeling this one will be sorted out soon.
