Wow, just wow. I ended up talking my way into fighting him without his minions. Then died several times. And then again. Finally I had a revelation, I took the Legions fist-o-pain back that I had given to Boone, and punched to guy's lights out. I too think Fallout 3 had a better overall feel to it, New Vegas didn't suck me in quite like Fallout 3. I'll have to play again and this time not worry about the main quest. First mod I'm going to install before I play again is a better UI. Now that I think about it, I never saw a single Eyebot...???

Nvidia d3d9 perf fix http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34778 Thought I needed a new video card for Christmas but I found the cure! I tried this fix and and now I can finally enable AA again. No more slowdowns with multiple NPCs. Simply awesome if your having performance problems. Makes New Vegas perform, well, like Fallout 3.

I successfully recruited her, but her "quest" that she had me following resulted in her going ape**** on the Crimson Caravan lady every time I tried to talk to her to take a job. When I tried to get her back in the fight, it royally P.O.'d the NCR, so I had to reload a previous save and tell her to go chill in my Presidential Suite. Man, she's got some anger management issues. I've had Rex and Veronica disappear on me for several "in-game days", only to suddenly appear at my suite. That little bug can prevent you from recruiting a new partner, which can be a PITA. Once they show back up though you can recruit whoever you want. Many several hours of game play later, out of the blue I received a message saying that Boone has returned to Novac. Wahoo!

Finished Cass's questand I was going to have her join me as a companion since Boone has gone missing. DENIED. She says I already have too many followers.

That's what I loved about Fallout 3, you don't even have to follow the main quest and it's still a great role playing game. I played F3 4 times (60+ hrs ea.), but only beat it twice. The last two times I didn't really bother with the main quest at all, just pretended I was a wastelander exploring the wastes.

Boone was gone after I came back out of the Lucky 38. Think I missed the warning about the bug by about 3 hours. Could have went back to an earlier save, but I had enough of that with the gamesave bug. The legion want to see me, they must want to come over and play! I'll check them out later, after leaving New Vegas I have 2700 quests in que...

Finally made it to New Vegas! Level 9 I think. I need to get rid of Boone, he's stealing all my kills. We did walk through a legion camp together but they didn't bother us. RESPECT.

I use the mouse wheel. The legion is still neutral for me. What did all of you do to get their panties in a twist?

I just finished "Come Fly with Me" and finally the game is getting on my good side. I set up home in Novac at the hotel. Has everything inside, bed, dresser, foot locker, fridge and other containers to store and organize your wares. There is also a work and ammo benches across the street. Luckily, I haven't had any issues with killcam today. Also no crashes since the patch the other day.

Another thing that annoys me is that somehow, Obsidian messed up the kill cam. When I'm not in VATS I get too many slow-mo kills shots, wouldn't bother me but they are usually unspectacular now and last 10 seconds too long. I'm watching the camera slowly float around a motionless body for way too long. Also the camera angle is wrong sometimes. Like when you throw dynamite at scorpions while in VATS, the camera always goes underneath its butt and I can't tell what the hell is going on. Oh yeah the the very first gripe I had with the game was the optical sights on the 9MM pistol, just doesn't seem right to me. It's like there is COD Modern Warfare in my Fallout, it just clashes with the whole retro theme. Hey Flitter, did you ever play Fallout 3?

I have had a few crashes. Sometimes it crashes when I quit. This is the first game that I can think of that has crashed on me since I installed Win7 last year. I had to replay a few hours because of the savegame bug. Fixed now. Yeah that's what I was thinking, it's OK to kill them. Just don't take their stuff. ___________________________________________________________________ I'm just not totally happy with this game, I think Fallout 3 was far superior. Fallout 3 made me think it WAS the post apocalypse, while New Vegas just seems like everything is old but for no apparent reason. There's no destruction, everything is just weathered and boarded up. Most of the new game art just doesn't match and sticks out like a sore thumb. The whole pallet is off, and the artwork just isn't up to par with Fallout 3's. Achievements, I could care less. When I get a pop-up that I killed 10\30 varmints, it just pulls me out of the game. I'm level 7 and haven't hit a dungeon yet. Everything is spread out and there's nothing but dirt and rocks in between, no reason to explore cause there's nothing to explore. The desert is the worst place for an RPG because THERE IS NOTHING IN THE FREAKING DESERT. I figured it just made the original Fallout a whole lot easier to come up with the game art back in the 90's. You have to admit a destructed city environment is more interactive then dirt and cacti. Bethesda knew this.

My saves, including Auto and Quick are all working correctly now after the patch. I still have Steam Cloud turned off, dunno if that makes a difference. How in the world can they release a game without the saves working correctly? Also I have major slowdowns with 5+ NPCs, otherwise I get good frames running at 1920x1200 2x AA on high setting. And how come we dont get a Perk every time we level now? Think I got a perks on leveling 1-4, but not 5, perk on 6 but I just leveled to 7 with no option to pick a perk of picked peppers.

Been playing New Vegas for a couple hours today, quick saved my game and exited to setup my G500 mouse. I restarted the game but when I went to load, it was like I never played at all today! Seems autosaves and quicksaves DO NOT get uploaded to the Cloud when you exit the game, maybe only when you exit Steam or maybe even randomly? Just make sure you manually do a regular save before you exit the game.

Just finished my install, gonna grab a bite to eat before I get started. Picked up the Collector's Edition BTW, some cool stuff. So, is there going to be a huge mod community like with the Elder Scrolls and F3, or is it gonna be a Steam micro transaction BS fest. I feel sick.

I've heard that if it's a higher mileage car do not change over to synthetic, may cause some problems, but I don't know if there's any truth to it.

What a hassle, I'm really starting to hate Steam again. At least with a Console you can lend a game disk to your friends, but the chance of lending your Steam account info? Guess it's not Steam's fault but the game publisher's. Wonder how much of a kickback Steam get's with every game registration? Not to mention, if you happen not to like the game you, can't sell it to recoup some of your loss. The hackers are always going to hack, they realize this. They don't want to loose a "potential" sale by someone reselling "their" game, and I do mean said game publisher. Are the console companies coming to this yet, say XBOX games being tied to the console you first play them on? Sounds totally damn evil doesn't it? I think PC piracy is going to flourish with the coming times. Thanks Lazerus, now I'm all mad at my favorite game studio. I would go for the higher resolution 1920x1200 over the 1080p models. More pixels are better, especially on a big 27 incher. My new monitor has a IPS panel in it, and after using one, I will never, ever, for never ever buy a TN panel again. Well, but the 120hz monitors that has built in 3D support interests me.

I went to Bestbuy to see if I could preorder the Collector's Edition but all they preorder is was the regular edition. You can get the preorder coaster set there now, and so I did. Going to take my chances and just swing by BB and maybe they will have the C.E. in a nice big pyramid like they did with the lunchboxes with the release of fallout 3. Here's a pic of the coasters, I'm a sucker for Fallout swag. On one side there is a casino name on the other the Fallout dude. All 4 are different.

The UT2k4 server situation is critical, there is only a few left. Even ours have fallen. Seems a few unknown ONS servers (some new I've never played on) have shown up and I'l play on them for an hour at most (ping issues). I'm not an obnoxious player, and when I got back to join the server, my IP has been banned. Now, one player screamed I was speed hacking (my crap comcast connection), but the last server I played on no one said a word. Pow I was banned. What do you think is going on? Oh and I alias on these severs cause 150+ ping makes me hide my face. I know I'm going to suck cause the lag, I just wanna play but without fingers pointing, Or are they pointing?

I'm trying to bring the Fallout thread back to life. Just finished Bioshock 2. I liked. Lack of new hardware is keeping me out of those threads. Think I'll be getting a GTX 460 soon though. Pretty much just waiting for N E W V E G A S
