Don't know how to do that...is that a prog? TracerT? I've been running SpeakEasy's bandwidth test, and most times my slowdowns with net coincide with server probs...but sometimes not...that was why I was puzzled. I suppose I should give Mediacomm high speed an ear-full, but I doubt they give a crap bout me. Oh no!!!! Not another Mediacom victim!! I've spent many hours on the phone fighting with them. Here in the extreme western Chicago suburbs Mediacom is growing faster than their network can handle. They've been beefing up things to handle telephone service but not as fast as they should be. Pingplotter as Flitter describes is a good resource because you can monitor your pings over an extended time. Without fail every time Mediacom came out response was fine as they showed up early in the day. Having some Pingplotter log files was good proof that there were bad times for sure. Also, you can ping different sites. If pings are fine to something like yahoo but bad to Nepenthe it's hard to blame Mediacom. I believe I there was a small fee for Pingplotter. If you have a router in the house you might try bypassing it and connecting directly to the cable modem. There has been more than once something with my kids PCs was stealing all of the bandwidth.

The new node connections with the old maps breaths some new life into them. You still know where everything is but the strats definitely change. So far so good but we were playing short on people. I liked the added vehicles besides the node connection changes on Dria.

If I haven't asked you to join it's because I'm another old fart that doesn't type well and about every message I send results in my death! Heck at 52 I think there are only a few older than me (Primus is a pup). I didn't join for a long time too. It wasn't the $$$. I was having more than enough fun on the pubs and I didn't really think about it. Then I started feeling guilty. I was having so much fun with this game and had only contributed the initial cost of the game itself to the UT cause. I really felt I needed to contribute and GC was always seemed the best run of the bunch. Anyway I'm happy I joined though it hasn't gained me any sympathy from the other GC members. They still happily smash me as often as possible though they do share tips on how to smash back. Anyway consider yourself invited to join!!!

I was just wondering how long Nepenthe waits before it kicks idlers? There were more than a few this afternoon and they really throw off the teams as everyone knows.

Gosh! I didn't know I had gotten so popular! I caught just a little bit of this guy ranting at me during play a couple of days ago. I couldn't even guess what he was talking about. I suspect it's no surprise to most of you that I'm no where near clever enough to even understand how to go about running some kind of cheating hack. I did notice one bug while playing when he was ranting. The double damage icon kept appearing out of place and I could not collect double damage. Perhaps this was just another symptom of a UT2K4 bug that choose to manifest itself at the time? My guess is that this the only day he saw me cheating which you'd think would give him at least a clue. Did anyone respond directly to him? Now, about this "haxing".... Is this Flitter refering to my supposed cheating or that I was coughing in to the mic. I know I had a problem a few weeks back coughing but I'm not doing this all the time am I??? Like I really expect a straight answer. I'll never use teamspeak again....

While playing last evening Nepenthe started warning me about kicking me for high pings. Game play was fine and I checked my ping 3 or 4 times and found it at around 50-60 but I did eventually get kicked. I had no problem rejoining and it didn't happen again. I know Flitter likes to hear about any Nepenthe issues so I thought I'd mention it. Cannon_Fodder

I'm not sure where to load it from but I just played this map in the pubs and found it interesting. No flying vehicles but a neat mini tank that most likely is just a Scorpion with a different look and a rapid fire gun but it was fun to drive! The map was pretty much a tank war with many different tank variations. I didn't find any avrils meaning being on foot was dangerous. Cannon_Fodder

Watch out for the players that have gotten very good with shock combos. Never run after one of these people as they are waiting for you to enter the blast range of the initial shot. Now if I just paid attention to my own advice... Cannon_Fodder

Not that it will make you feel any better but Mediacom can be just as frustrating just west of Chicago. Cannon_Fodder
