If the price difference is like $20 or less I would just buy a Big Typhoon. I have personally used the Freezer 64 and I loved the thing. Cujo is never wrong about stuff like this either and if he swears by the Big Typhoon then how could you go wrong? Hehehhe. Either one will do you good but the BT probably edges out the Freezer by a nose in terms of overall operation.

Is your processor affinity set to only run CSS on one of the cores? Did you do the AMD registry hack for dual core processors?
-
It is all about a combination of things in firefights. You are taxing the computer as a whole more during large battles because more information needs to be rendered. I still think that you should start with a clean installation of windows before pointing fingers at the hardware.

just ordered Mobo....slowly but surely.
DFI UT NF4 SLI-DR.

DUM DUM DUM! ... Heheheh. That thing you were talking about with the DFI board is a RAM drive. You can allocate memory to act as uber fast storage space. It is hardly worth the cost though. Here's hoping you aren't like me and you actually get your computer finished sometime before the next millenia!

it's impossible to play fps with a wireless, though that's probably the best wireless combination available.
No way man. Logitech G7 mouse has 2000dpi and no lag and it is wireless.

The windows repair option built into the cd only works about 50% of the time. The 50% of the time that it does work people normally start having intermittent issues with windows within like a 2 week period. If you have 2 seperate hard drives that are close to the same size you should install the fresh copy of windows onto the clean hard drive. Then hookup your original drive as a slave to the one with windows and copy all the information you need to save at your leisure.

The steppings on the processors are all E0. Info can be found here.

438 out of 10500 means that you are in the upper 4% of all the people who play on GC servers! That is a pretty good place to be Silo if you are having fun. It doesn't matter what your score is if you are having fun. Everyone can always improve on their place in the stats and if that is what you want to do then great! Do not be discouraged by the stats though. Keep on playing and you WILL get better!

Those are both good maps but I think villa might edge out facility because it is a little more balanced.

Awww...no. Who am I going to harass now?

Yeah, that link you posted was for 2x 512 sticks. Just buy another gig stick of memory and add it to it. You should get the version info off of your current stick and get one of the same revision if you can.

While I'm not arguing with you about the points you are making (because they are right) the heatsink clip on the board is designed in such a fashion that using it will allow you pretty good paste distribution. You already knew that though. The Freezer 64 doesn't require motherboard removal either if you have already installed it. With that being said, the biggest benefit of the Freezer is the cost and the Big Typhoon is only like $50 anyways so it is not that huge a benefit.
-
I dunno man, I really like that Freezer 64 heatsink AND it is uber cheap.
-
just format and install the latest drivers. you're probably due for one anyway.
Yup.
-
Bunny, you can always buy another set of your original memory and upgrade TO 2gb. Or you could sell your 2x 512 sticks and then buy those 2x 1gb sticks.
-
Yeah, the Asus AI Overclock allows you to overclock based on a percentage multiplier and it really is pretty effective if you don't want a super ridiculous overclock.

dude, xT's annual tap dance fundraiser was today. no way they could have made it.
ZING!
-
No problem Silo. Always cool to have another person interested in tWc.
-
True that Bunny. Most BIOSes will see up to 3GB and sometimes windows can see up to 3.5 but Windows XP can only address 2 physical gigabytes of memory. At this point in time you do NOT need any more then 2gb of memory as windows cannot use more then that.

Yeah. I'll get them all when I get home from work.

I use 5.1 and I haven't had any problems with it.

But how much latency in a cordless mouse is actually noticeable? I have a g5 too and I have noticed little or no difference in the operation of the mouse. However, if it is significant then I suppose I have something to blame my horrible k:d ratio on!
