  1. Ebil are you talking about servers? Cause I'm not sure what you mean by channels, as opposed to GW1 GW2 is not instanced in the same way so if you're on the same server there should be no trouble finding your friends. Also while it's obviously changed and added a regular MMO level cap of 80, unlike GW1, I don't see this as another MMO that will suck you in. Yes, like any video game you can spend a lot of time in it, but it's built to allow you to have to spend less time on it than you would otheriwse, also as there is no monthly fee I see no harm in buying it and playing whenever you have free time.

  2. Woah, I'm glad that beta weekend is over otherwise I would never have started on studying for my mid-terms. Sorry I never really got to play with you guys, i was mostly just solo'ing PvE because 1) I felt as if I had no idea what I was doing and wanted to learn from the beginning first and 2) My gaming "rig" right now is an old laptop as my desktop has sadly bit the dust. So until I build myself another gaming computer the sheer drop in framerate that I experienced in the big WvW areas is enough to push away for now, and I was unable to get in contact with most of my GW1 friends so 5v5 structured never happened. I have to say though I'm extremely impressed by the PvE, as in I have never played anything as good as what A.net has made for this game. Soling was actually fun, as there was always something going on (no real quests, just dynamic events and rewards for killing creatures). I'm still a little skeptical about PvP, as I was a huge fan of GvG from GW1 which they've basically scrapped, and while I have no problem with a 5v5 capture point style game, I really hope they add something else or that's going to get really boring fast and WvW may be fun, but it is lacking any form of structure from what I saw.

Tl;dr Beta weekend is awesome, and GW2 is really fun, though A.net needs to listen more to their PvP community.

  3. Turns out I CANT play this beta from my closed beta account. It wont let me login.

    So sad now :(

Also Lousiest, get a mic man!

  4. I'll be playing the beta i hope. I still have access to it from the closed beta, and its no longer under the NDA.

You lucky son of a gun how did you get closed beta access? Also what server are you guys thinking of playing on?

  5. There has never and will never be a harder game than Battletoads. No seriously, try to beat it I dare you. It took me an entire semester's worth of free time.. yah I didn't go out much but at least I can say I beat Battletoads.

Protip: There's a warp in the speed bike level

    "Hello Cleveland!"

I'm lazy in terms of genres but I guess a few classic favorites of mine would include Pulp Fiction, The Usual Suspects, A Clockwork Orange, Blade Runner, and the Big Lebowski along with many others.

  7. Well usually by now plans have been made, so things arent looking to bright.

The main reason for this I believe is to make sure there are accommodations available such as the hotel used near Cuyahoga Falls for a couple of years. However, if they planned on doing another camping trip like last years that unfortunately fell through there's still time.

  8. Yah without the bad news that I've been hearing about the Galaxy I would have already rushed out to grab one. The Droid RAZR looks like a pretty nice phone as far as the Motorola line goes, but if I'm going to spend the money to buy a really nice android phone I'd rather it be the best you know. Also there is the Samsung Galaxy II, but even though I've heard great things it's starting to get a little dated and the III will probably be released shortly after I buy the II. Well also there is the fact that I can't actually renew until January so maybe I'll just keep searching and see what people have to say about the Galaxy Nexus and if their opinions change as they release fixes.

  9. OT - that is one epic avatar LB, LOL

Yup, I think I spent equal time reading the posts in this thread as I did watching the .gif

  10. So the time has finally come for me to get my second smart phone in January once my contract expires with Verizon. I figured first of all I would want to stay on Verizon simply because I'm a bigger fan of Android, and if I ultimately decide to get the Iphone I can always get it on Verizon now. So the two really good flagship phones seem to be either the Samsung Galaxy Nexus as well as the Motorla Droid RAZR. I was wondering if anyone was looking at either of these, or had any experience that they would be willing to help me make a decision with. From everything I've seen the Galaxy Nexus seems to be the better phone for right now simply because it has the latest version of the Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich. Yet it also seems to have a few bugs that might have already been fixed.

    Your input is appreciated,

  11. Ahh, so tempting. I didn't play the first game though :(

    Get them both. Worth it.

If the sequel is anything like the first, then definitely buy it. I just got Witcher 2 and Portal 2 however, so I'm going to wait and see what else they put up.

Portal 2 for under $10 has been the steal of the year thus far. I paid $50 for it day one, and it was worth every penny.

Well I guess to each his own, but as much as I loved the original Portal, it was 20 bucks and that was the most I'd ever pay for it. Unless Portal 2 is two and half times as good I'm glad I never bought it fully priced.
