  1. If you're going to upsize the file in photoshop, the best method to use without losing ANY image quality is the "110%" method.

    Here's the method:

    1. Open your file in photoshop and go to "image size" box.

    2. In the "document size" area, change measurement drop-down to percentage.

    3. Enter "110" in both height and width boxes of the document size area.

    4. Make sure "Resample Image" is checked, and select "Bicubic Smoother" from the drop-down box. (This will use the best resampling algorithm for making images larger)

repeat these steps as many times as needed to get the size you want! This method has been used to take normal 4MP pictures and blowing them up large enough for billboards, etc. without losing a bit of image quality. Very powerful tool!

    Good luck! :D

btw, this method should work in other programs such as Gimp, etc. I'm pretty sure Gimp has the resampling stuff in it too, and of course its free.

  2. I checked out all the vids for this one, and i agree that it looks like it could be a lot of fun to play. I don't know if I'm sold on the graphics yet, though. I enjoy drooling over the realistic lighting, shading, etc. of characters in CoD3, GoW, etc. and I'm not sure how I would like the cartoon-ish look to everything when I know my 360 can do much more. Maybe I just need to see the game really in action before I pass judgement though. I'll be keeping my eye on it though!

I am also watching Lost Planet closely too, only a few more weeks now! :D

  3. I dont have the time to send the board back, because I head back down to school in a couple of days. Unfortunately, its too far of a drive for Mini to make a house call.

I saw this sound card on newegg thats a x-fi:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16829102006

    Any thoughts about this one.

I'd be careful with that one, I had that one for about a week (bought from best buy on sale), and periodically it would start producing strange "popping" sounds (this happened almost 2 months ago, so I can't remember exactly what it sounded like). The problem would go away with a restart of my computer, but I think it came back every time my computer woke up from standby. I returned the card and am back to using my on-board sound card since I didn't want to put up with something that wasn't right when the money could be better spent elsewhere.

I know this won't speak for every example of that model, but I know my experience was not the only example of this happening. Anyways, just wanted to give my input. IMO, splurge for the fatal1ty and avoid the possible problems :D

  4. not 7, but I had to leave at quarter to 7 to get here by 8 (was at parents house)

I also worked 8-4 on christmas, so i dont wanna hear no complainin!

though all i did at work was watch trigun on the tv's :)

I was about to extend my deepest sympathy until that last bit there, lol

  5. GoW, vegas, CoD3 are all awesome games, must-buys in my opinion. (I have them all)

If you like sports games, I highly recommend NHL 07. I know it's an EA game (some folks wont buy from EA), but the "skill stick" is by far one of the best additions to a sports game that I've seen in a looooooong time, and the physics system is very good as well. Even if you're not a huge hockey fan, its very fun and addicting working on scoring like the pros instead of relying on cheap one-timers for every goal :D

There is about a 10 game learning curve to get used to the new controls, but if you can get over the hump, the gameplay is very satisfying

  6. that "mini" plug is a 4 pin plug. I have 4-pin to 6-pin cables to connect my digital camcorder to my desktop. If you can find a 9-pin to 4-pin cable, that should be what you need.

all of my 4-pin connections look the same as the one in your picture!

If you disconnect your 360 from teh internet and set its clock back you can fool it into thinking you still have time to watch the movie.

    that was fast....

    fast, yes.

    ghetto, absolutely.

  8. touchpad ftw! :freak:

Do you use the touchpad? I cant even get those things to go where I want them to on a web browser... let alone in a game :erm:

lol, i was kidding.... I'm good with the touchpad, but not THAT good

I have played source on my laptop (inspiron 6000D), graphics weren't very high, but it was very playable with a decent mouse!

  9. I need to use a console for a week to try to see why people like playing on them. I played on a Xbox and I got so mad that I almost broke the controller.

yeah i hate original xbox but xbox360 is amazing!

My friend told me single player on rainbow vegas 6 is amazing and multiplayer is sweet too... but the gfx was dummed down for multiplayer which made him pretty miffed.

I haven't played the multiplayer yet, so I cannot speak as to the quality of graphics for it (plus all I have is a 27" 480p tv >_<), but the single player stuff is awesome. The cover control system is a little better than gears, imo mainly because you can do some rough aiming without exposing from cover, then pop out for a quick hs then hide again. so satisfying! :D

  10. This is on a one road to wonderland. But YAY! I hope they put up keyboards. Mine is all sticky.

go get your wireless keyboard now! go go go!

  11. good lord, i never never never EVER should have said to myself "lets see what woot's got for sale today". There goes all semblance of productivity for the day :(

  12. So how far along is every in this game? I got to the 2nd dungeon over thanksgiving break.

I left my Wii at home so that I could spend time on studying for finals rather then playing Zelda all day. Problem is, Im going through Zelda withdrawls. ahhhhhh :bang:

DUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!! LEND ME YOUR WII!!!!!!! (as wrong as that sounds)

    :(:(

I have to wait for my buddy who works at a local Radio Shack to get their shipment in...he's promised me one out of the 22 he's getting in a week and a half. Anyone else want one in the Toronto area?

could you ship one to indiana plz? k thx. :D

The Palm TX will do everything you said you wanted it to do. So will the HP and the Dell...it's just that the Dell and the HP might do it a hair faster, and with the Dell, you'll get higher resolution video.

My advice: go check 'em out in person now that you've got a few suggestions and see which you like the best. :D

Wasn't trying to imply anything was BETTER, but of course it is always best to check them out yourself, everyone has their preferences! happy shopping :D

If you want to spend less money, try this: Palm TX

It will do everything you mentioned, and it's a whole lot less expensive. Plus...I hate Dell. :-) No offense intended, I just hate all the bloody software they load their new computers up with. I dunno if they do the same things with their Pocket PC stuff.

That Palm TX is not an equivalent PDA to the X51v I mentioned. The dell has a 640x480 SVGA resolution, which is significantly higher than the palm, and the processor on the palm is significantly slower than my "base" model x51 400mHz that I have. Now, if you don't need all the goodies, then I'm sure the palm is a great pda.

He mentioned wanting to watch videos and do lots more stuff with it, so imho he ought to consider the dell over the palm due to power, resolution, and feature considerations. There isn't a pda with similar specs for the price of the dell. I also am wondering if the Palm OS is going to be around for a whole lot longer, as Windows Mobile seems to be growing in the market, but I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor for now.

I know many people hate dell (I don't care much for them on several things myself, I say this as I type on my Inspiron 6000D), however the PDA is very good and **does not** come pre-loaded with all kinds of garbage like their PCs and laptops do. All the crap is on CDs, and you can choose what you want on there. :D
