  1. Since it's of no benefit to be able to hear the other team why not make it so people can turn on alltalk if they want?
  2. I do not call individual admins cheaters you hear no such thing every day I have no idea what your reference to moving people around is other than the other day I asked if the opposing team could be made stronger with a swap and you obliged and I thanked you. As far as when I complained after getting stomped 2 games in a row by a team with 4 admins on it that can hear what we are sayin and thinking that might be helping them is just a normal reaction I would think. I've heard you completely flip out for far less, but I understand I am not an admin so I should just "shut up" and keep my opinions to myself. I believe along with many people that having an unfair advantage is cheating, but I do not continually complain about it, your extreme exaggerations and baseless accusations aside I believe it has only come up 3 times and as 707 has said I didn't bring it up I just commented on it and I have not seen a rule outlawing opinions. I never said don't listen I said make it alltalk for everyone if you think the whole server will fall apart if you can't hear everything or better yet stop being so sensitive about it when someone doesn't think the way you do and don't change anything.
  3. There was no continual talking, the whole exchange was within 2 minutes I would bet. 707 said something like "it is kind of cheap that admins can hear us talking" then I stated a fact by saying something like "yea the admins cheat", as any online gamer would agree having an unfair advantage is cheating by definition. Having the owner of a server allow you to cheat on their server doesn't change the fact it is cheating being able to hear or see what the other team is planning. I understand that you all believe having an unfair advantage is necessary for you to be an effective admin and that your all special people that would never give in to human nature and make use of information you hear, and that may well be so, but it doesn't change the fact that having an unfair advantage is still called cheating. If it offends you that you are cheating you can turn on alltalk for everyone and the unfair advantage would dissapear, anyhow we weren't "whining" we were conversing whith each other untill Madvillain started "whining" about what we were saying because he heard us using the unfair advantage commonly refered to as a cheat to listen to our conversation. It was already over when Maestro said drop it and I did then Madvillain kept typing to me about it so I thought it was ok to answer him since he is an admin, and then I was kicked. I wasn't arguing or debating with an admin I was expressing my opinion to another player which as far as I know there is no rule against then I was responding to an admin so I didn't get kicked for ignoring an admin. Stating a fact is not being disrespectful, the truth hurts for a reason...
  4. "You keep using that word I do not think it means what you think it means" When a group of board members arbitrarily make rules and then impose them on the rest of the paying customers they are dictating what the rules are, are they not? maybe decree would be less offensive? I don't believe I called it a dictatorship my intention was not to be insulting, sorry if you were. The problem of people "buying membership and not looking back" I would be willing to bet has more to do with the lack of voting rights than anything else. As the originator of this topic I feel obliged to respond to replies and since there clearly will not be any voting on this subject could we please close or delete this topic so I don't have to keep coming back.
  5. "I don't think you understand how nearly every society/group works" While you are of course entitled to your opinion, that I find mildly insulting, I beg to differ. What I didn't have knowledge of is how this group works. "True democracy does not work, never has" While I believe that statement is debatable, I have no interest in doing so. "I stated that a members only server was a terrible idea, and it is. Don't take it personally" As I've said it wasn't my idea, I heard it on the server and along with many other customers thought it was a great idea so I don't take it personally. Although I do find the way you phrase it as if your beliefs are a matter of fact, somewhat amusing. "I told you to calm down, because you were so quick to pull the plug on the conversation and abandon the forums" My belief that the forums are not for me has nothing to do with my level of calm. The top down dictatorial style of "community" I am just fundamentally opposed too, I don't want to debate wether or not it is the right way to do it, it's just not for me. Also a recent email from GC reminding me that "reserve holding customers that have not been acting all that great" get their money kept while getting banned from the servers, leads me to believe I should just stick to the game servers. "I would think that would be a win for you" Any wins would be for the paying customers that think a member only server would be a great addition.
  6. I'm sorry but the ability to make suggestions is not the same as having a say, the only reason I asked for a vote was because I heard that a member only server was a possibility and every member who plays on the server that I talked too about it thought it was a great idea. I had read on another GC page that there are match servers and assumed they were for members so I didn't think it was a change in the philosophical ideas of GC. The real problem is I had no idea that paying members didn't get a vote or I never would have asked for one or probably come here in the first place, the "BOARD MEMBER" tags only became apparent to me today and it was also the first I've heard of it. I was naively under the impression with all the words like "member" and "community" being thrown around, that all things were voted on by the members in the community like other groups that I have belonged. I think if it was more obvious that we are really just customers it would help with mitigating confusion in the future when new customers pay for the reserve. "Er... calm down" I'm not sure what would make you think I am not calm, but I assure you I am. All I asked for was a vote since many members think it is a great idea, and I only asked again because the original request for a vote was ignored. I am not "hot and bothered" about anything, a simple misunderstanding is all. Now that I have found out paying customers don't get a vote I see no point in the forums for me. I can be told my suggestions are "terrible" ingame LOL.
  7. "No, from what I can see all the board members are against it." You guys could have saved us some time by telling me right off the bat paying members don't have any say, I think I will become one of those people that "pay the $15 for the reserve and never look back" as I see no point in the forums if all is dictated from the top.
  8. Now that some people have had a chance to express their opinions and it is clear there is support for a member only server, could we please have a vote to see where the membership stands on this?
  9. I'm not saying we shouldn't welcome and accommodate new players nor am I saying membership should be required, since there would be a server where all that can still happen. As far as helping new players to learn the point system and rules, I made a spray with some of the menu commands months ago and sprayed it all the time until an admin covered it with his new spray recently letting me know it was not needed anymore, so I deleted it. Also I do my best to inform new players of the server rules. "We will not be requiring membership to play here" Sorry I am relatively new here and I guess I should have done more research to get a better understanding of how GC operated, I had no idea you were the person I needed to speak to about this. Other groups I have been a part of similar to this voted on everything, policy and rules were decided democratically by all members. Since you have made up your mind feel free to delete this thread. I guess it's more understandable now why so many of the paying members rarely visit the forums and provide input.
  10. Just thought it would be nice to be able to have a game once in awhile where everyone knows how to use the points system and understands all the server rules. Actually it would be nice to have a game like that every day, sadly since the second server has been up and has diluted the relatively few members online at any given moment between the two, I only have fond memories of games like that. Are there no member only GC servers for any games? Can we not have a vote to see what the membership wants?
  11. Recently there was talk of a new member only server coming online, that I hear has fallen through. Could we possibly have a vote on turning one of the existing servers into a M/O server?
  12. In case it helps, after the server crashes my console keeps trying to connect to some facebook page it says "browser message: unsafe javascript attempt to access frame with url http://static.ak.facebook.com/connect/xd_arbitter.php?version=28#channel=f3047590f8&channel_path=........" and keeps trying to open this even after I'm no longer connected until I restart the game.
