Can't even get windows installed :/ Were going to try one of my 13 gig old hard drives and install windows to see if we can isolate the problem being the hard drive.

We've trie both of the 160 (Brand New) gig hard drives and both give us the same problem. Says it cannot format the partition and saying the disk might be bad(Don't understand how 2 brand new hard drives can give us the same problems). We can't even format it quick or anything so we can't even get windows on the machine which is actually our goal now aside from the partitioning.

I'll try posting this here for killer and anyone else who wants to give some insight. I tried sending a PM to dweezil and Zerodamage but don't know if it went through. Sorry if I sent it to you guys multiple times ;( Well everything on the hardware side installed fine. We got it to recognize 3 out of the 4 IDE things. 1 of the 160 gig HD's, the DVD-r, and my old slave 120 gig Hard drive. When we try and partition the machine, we do a full format and when it gets to 100% it says the disk cannot be formatted. Disk may be damaged. We have tried switching IDE slots, primary and master, and even disconnecting the the other 2 hard drives leaving the cd drive and primary 160 up. Even after trying a quick format we still get the same problem. He thinks its the mobo, IDE Cable, or even Hard drive. He doesn't THINK its the hard drive or IDE cable but one can never know. He spoke to a friend and the guy thinks its not even the mobo either. His friend mentioned AMD 64 processors having problems installing windows. Do you have any thoughts or insights on this on anything we can possibly do so I can get this machine up and running.

So of course installing the hardware would be a breeze but you can never build a computer without running into problems. We tried partitioning one of the 160 gig hard drives(It actually only recognizes about 130 gigs of data so Its a surprising 30 gig's lost, both hard drives were the same, if this is wrong any thoughts?) We tried a full format and when it got to the end we got an error saying it can't be partitioned. Tried a quick format same thing. Tried a full format on the other hard drive and we got the same problem. So he reset all the IDE cables, now the computer won't recognize any of the IDE drives(CD drive as well as the other 3 Hard drives) I was hoping to try out my new video card tonight also ;_; Any thoughts or suggestions? I don't know why I'm losing 30 gigs of space with a 160 gig hard drive but thats what its being recognized as, thinking of RMAing it with WD. I hope I don't lose any data on my 120 gig or else I'll really be screwed.

As far as I know, Flat LCD monitors aren't very good for Gaming(There was controversey at CPL this past summer when they elected to use LCD screens from their sponsor and there was a huge uprising cause nobody wanted LCD screens). Their refresh rates aren't as high as CRT's. These days you can get very very cheap good CRT monitors. LCD's are amazing though for picture quality etc. so you really have to outweigh your uses on each. I'm sure the other tech heads will help here.

Since I'm installing mostly everything today. I had a reccomendation from him to install the omega drivers but I spoke to urK?!? and he said to install the DNA drivers. Little torn on which ones to download and install for the machine. Any insights and links?

Got everything instealled. Tommorrow I'm installing software. yes I know its a bit messy but thats what happens when you have a small case and a lot of hardware(Something I sacrificed so I can fit it in my desk). I'm going to try and push the wires back a bit and tie em together. Edit out.

Yea saw it this evening. It looks pretty cool. We'll see how it turns out.

I'm aware its my own mattress , My parents sometimes go up to Mass. and camp with our cousins for a whole weekend so I know they have one. Too far away for ME to set anything in stone. But I know I have a available room which is good. I might want ot make it to TP's the night before also, we'll see about that. Woo i'll be 21! =]]]]]

No smoking for me either. I'm fine with sleeping and non partying at 2 AM. Sleeping is 2 thumbs up. Again playaa, if I back out of this room cause I can go with urK and others plz don't be upset as I mentioned. I'll have a more firm answer on this in the comming months of course. Hey Playaa, If you don't mind. I might want to go in on that also. I'll take the floor or air mattress so it doesn't matter. This is only if my plans with a couple other people fall through (urK?!? and 2 others). Since your OK with three and if I have to back out would that be a problem? If it is no worries.

Is there any way you can take a picture of the the inside of your system with a digi cam so we can see if you have an AGP slot? If you don't have a slot I'd strongly suggest the new computer option I mentioned. http://www.imageshack.us for free hosting of the picture if you need to. I'd still consider the option of saving up money and buying a nice mid tier system for about 500-700 dollars or again talk with your parents about it, Christmas time is coming up and I'm sure you guys can work out a deal. It can go much farther for you in the long run.

Yea, I would suggest not to get either card, its a waste of money. Save up and maybe purchase a nice mid-tier system. Christmas is rolling around so maybe you can work with your parents on that one.

Well, all teams sit in the tourney area. Past CPL, we had about 5 or 6 rows of comps. 2 tables per row, 2 teams can sit at each table. They usually just space out the teams accordingly. All 5 players sit next to each other and most of the time the other team is far away and faceed towards you so you can't stand up and see where the other players are. Things are pretty secure and the chances of other teams hearing your strats are slim to none, besides ur still talking on the mic anyway most of the time. Fadetoblack is on. After they die, its as PDO said, absolutely no talking.

AT CPL, people just leave all their stuff in the large BYOC room. Yes there are chances for things to get stolen and yes things do get stolen but what can u expect from 2000 gamers all in one room. Thats just from my experience and I know that stuff did get stolen from peoples comps such as mice or headphones and even their video cards or whole shuttle system. It's very risky, but I don't know what a bunch of people in a hotel are going to do with it. Its really a tough situation.

Part 1 was decent. I didn't even want to see part 2 in the movies. When I was watching it home I was like playing a game or something. Just didn't interest me. How they did the postsers though are cool with the fade of vader in each of them.

Been talking with urK?!? about "Possibly" coming with him and a possible 2 other GF People. Still too early to even decide on this but the Idea is open. Would be rooming with them if they come, if not I'll room with anyone else.
