    ugh...noob question

    Bah, I am teh noobtastical! Anyhow, yeah, i suk at CS:S so I am gonna reformat to see if it gives me skill.

     

    So...I reformatted, and my first step is to connect to thw WORLD WIDE WEB so that I can set up my Linksys and my drivers, etc.

     

    Well...I CANT CONNECT!!!

     

     

    So, I have a wireless internet provider (yes it looks like a freaking antenna coming out of my chimney) and I have a Linksys wireless router so my wife can connect on her laptop from anywhere on our estate (laff).

     

    I am going to disconnect from the router and go straight to the box on the wall that represents my antenna. It has a little built in router, or so they tell me.

     

    I have tried setting up an automattic connection through explorer multiple times. No dice.

     

    Any advice??

    CPU/MoBo Suggestions?

    Well, I am going to reformat today, and see if that will let me limp along for a few more months.

     

    However, my current system (AMD 2600+, 1GB RAM, 9800Pro) doesnt seem to be cutting it any more? Ive been told it is my CPU.

     

    When I get in a firefight or on a texture heavy map with alot of other people, my FPS goes single digit and everything acts all laggy, reguardless of my latency.

     

    Does a new CPU sound in order?

     

    Any suggestions on which? MoBo? I am not building for a bigger tomorrow, I just want to be able to handily play CS:S. I will not be upgrading my vid card for a little while yet...

    back in the day it was m0ss. Slimms was good. Camel was good. Bugs, DracZ, there were a LOT of god players back during 1.6

     

    my comp sux to much for CS:S so I dont play that often any more...dunno who is good now. Norguard seems pretty good tho.

    I've "controlled" my dreams to some point.....my guess is that when this happens we've done a "touch n go" and almsot woken up.  If I'm not mistaken, dreaming happens generally on your way back out of sleep....before you wake up.

     

    How about the dreams you don't want to end....I'm pretty sure (although it's "cloudy" to me even now) that I've been able to re-enter dreams after waking for a very brief moment.  This is rare, normally you wake yourself up trying to finish the dream.

    Ya, I know that it would be 10 for me :( But I get home at 6. And the wife will be at happy hour w her friends. So I figure that I will at least get until 9 or 10 to play. So...I will be there before everyone else. :( Get in there early and I'll let you toss me a couple of HEs.

I voted dualies because I shoot them fast.  So fast.  You wouldnt believe how fast.  Its hard to describe.  Its like blast blast blast blast blast blast.  No wait, its more like blastblastblastrblastbasltbaslt.  Its more like a mp5 rate of fire.  Really fast.  Oh and I feel |337 when I get dualie killz :D

    Tru....but when the rush comes, I gladly give it up. My awpers have instructions to shoot through me if necessary.

    AWP pwns (especially w someone watching your back).

    Scout is |337, but I chronically shoot people in the chest instead of the head b/c I am used to the AWP.

    AUTO is h4x0rrific but horribly noobish, and I wouldnt be caught dead holding one.

    Just wheel up (or down) would yield a rapid rate of fire. If you have the clicky wheel intellimouse.

     

    Its an academic argument, who wants the bind the wheel to fire? Its like playing CS and using your keyboard to "look" and foregoing the mouse (ala Bob Lee, RIP friend).

     

    Anyhow, when I shoot the dualies, they make thye TMP look like a slug. Thats how fast I fire them.

    I live in DFW too, so you can expect to see me on this server when I get to play some CSS.

     

    What is zombie?? I remember the jailbreak thing too :D

     

    I played the WC mod in 1.6 and found a CS:S server that was running the WC mod. It actually ran pretty smoothly.

     

    However, I am NOT a fan of gimmiky mods, etc. My idea of a perfect pub is about 14 peeps, all showing a little skill. Not very easy to set up a server like that I guess. I get burnt out on the big 12 v 12 "race" to frag the most peeps.

     

    I REALLY like Duke's idea of making it a normal, non-modded server that runs the classic maps mixed in with Iceworld, Poolhouse, AWP maps, etc. Kinda gives you a break from concentrating and offers something for everyone. I think a mix like that requires quite a few admins though, to keep out the TKing scum.

     

    Please keep the scopes active too?

     

    Anyhow, just my 2 cents. Once again...THANKS DIRK!!! I'll cya in the game this weekend :)
