Hello Hitman and Mack, good to see you're still hanging out here. Thanks for the info in regards to the HLS update Bugs, I'm sure Crowbar told me but I probably forgot.

Hey everyone, hope you remember me. I remember some of you: fatty, gooters, crowbar of course and many others. I left the community in 2003 to head off for the war in Iraq, and returned this April. I didn't return to the community because I had so much going on in my life such as college and work, and I had different priorities such as catching up with people I care about. (Not implying I don't care about any of you). Glad to say I'm pretty well caught up and will be trying to get back into the community once again. I kind of lost my edge in CS so maybe I'll have a chance to catch up with CS2, but I'll look forward to seeing many of you on the Unreal Servers and possibly some COD or WOW when it comes out. I hope to find all of you well and gaming and look forward to finding out what's been going on with many of you. I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to vote on November 2nd, because every vote counts. Keep the Faith.

Definitely a good article on WOW. I've been debating which mmorpg to get recently, and even though WoW hasn't come out yet, I think I'll wait. Thanks for the post Crowbar, now we just need to convince mike and nate.

I've seen arranged marraiges up close and personal and I agree that they aren't the best idea. However, I still believe that you can make any relationship work if you base it on common morales and beliefs. I attended the wedding of Salla, one of my interpreters, who married his cousin. All he had to do was ask his uncle and she had to be his wife. I kind of felt sorry for her because from what Salla told me they didn't even really know each other, he just had a physical attraction to her. I don't think that it is the best idea in the world, but I think if you try you can make it work. I saw him just last week and he said the marraige was going great, he couldn't stand being at work because he had to be away from her. Granted sometimes marraiges don't work, but that's usually because one spouse or the other turns out to be a jerk, and of course if you can't compromise, you're not going to have a very healthy marraige.

lol that was a pretty interesting trip, but this year shouldn't be a problem. I'm getting a new car and as long as I don't bring back any bad driving habits from here we should be fine. Sorry about the misinterpretation on Talent, I haven't even seen him in 11 months, but I thought Crowbar said something regarding Nite and Talent going to Ohio with us. Must have been a personal message or something.

Stealth and I are definitely in if we're back in the states by then. We Iowans will roll over you Ohio folks like we did in '02, especially if we can get Talent and Nitemare.

Hey everybody, greetings from Baghdad! I just got my new $2500 laptop in the mail a few weeks ago and now I have CoD which I ordered but it won't work. Every time I get to the main menu and hit 'single player' nothing happens except a brief pause and then the music starts up again at the main menu. I had an initial problem installing it because when it was around 90% completed we had to rush out on a mission and when I came back my computer had frozen up and wouldn't reboot for quite a while. I tried reinstalling it twice but the same problem occured. Please Help, it will take another month before I can get a replacement. (No Best Buys here).

It's very difficult to distinguish friend from foe. No, it's actually closer to impossible to distinguish friend from foe. I remember one time some members of my company were transporting prisoners from one prison to another. On the way three prisoners jumped out of the vehicle they were being transported in and hit the ground running. The rear security saw them jump out and attempted to fire upon the fleeing Iraqis, but by then they were in the midst of farmers who were working in their fields and they couldn't fire for fear of hitting the civilians. They called us up immediately for help in tracking down the missing prisoners, and myself and several others piled into our hummvees and headed for their position. We arrived shortly after this and began our search for them. One had already been caught. He had broken his arm when jumping out of the vehicle and hadn't made it that far. We spread out and attempted to locate the prisoners, but we never found them. Local Iraqis were everywhere, but apparently no one had seen anything, and we didn't expect them to, since we were in the Sunni Triangle north of Baghdad. We knew that at least some of the locals had seen where they had gone, but they didn't come forward. It was kind of typical, even though these prisoners were not military prisoners but Iraqis who had committed crimes against other Iraqis such as murder and robbery. Not all Iraqis feel hatred for us though. In fact the opposite is true in the vast majority of Iraqis and you get the sense that most are genuinely glad we are here. Unfortunately it only takes a few who don't agree with us to cause a large number of problems. Every day I drive through Baghdad children still wave and say hi to us. But we are always on our guard because attacks and attempted attacks still occur on an average of 44 times a day in Iraq according to recent information and that number is steadily rising. At night you hear almost constant gunfire in Baghdad and flares and even rockets are seen on a daily basis. Especially recently it seems I'm spending several hours in a bunker some days because of morar attacks. We never go anywhere unarmed, even to the latrine. We've been attacked multiple times in the past so you could say we are more paranoid than most soldiers, but we feel that any added protection is worth most inconveniances and for the most part we don't mind. Things have improved greatly from what I have seen first-hand, and not just since we bombed the place. I've spoken with many Iraqis and they have told me that though things aren't perfect, this place wasn't so great to start out with, and many journalists don't seem to realize that. Problems like poor sanitation, power outages and shortages, phone service and transportation were all problems BEFORE the bombing. In a report I saw before the war, Baghdad was ranked DEAD LAST in terms of how nice it was to live in among over 250 major cities. I mean no offense, civilization may have started here, but it stopped very, very shortly thereafter. In the short time we've been here most Iraqis have done and seen things they never thought possible. It was even illegal to have satellite telivision or personal computers before we liberated the populace. Granted there are still major problems with Iraq, but almost all of these problems are a direct result of terrorists and terrorist actions. There attempts to destabilize the government include more terror and attacks on infrastructure like education and power stations than at coalition forces, though there are plenty enough of those. In the end most Iraqis realize that what we are doing here is good for them and appreciate that fact. The only Iraqis who are causing problems are those who want to see themselves in power, and would be unable to gain that power through democracy or peaceful methods. In the end the true people that suffer because of these terror attacks is the Iraqis themselves, and if they ever see that this country could easily become a major power in the middle east and a major ally of the US. My personal prayer is that this happens, but only time will tell.

It tricks you because you only concentrate on the card that you think of, so unless you pay very close attention to all the cards you can't remember which cards were there originally. Very clever.

I have em and I love em. My friends don't recognize me without them so I wear them all the time. I even got used to my BCG's (BirthControlGlasses) in Basic Training. Aftwe them normal glasses are sweet.

This is something I've been thining about for some time. I don't fear death because I know that I have more to look forward to in the next life than I could ever have here in this one. If I could choose how I died though I would want to go quickly, without knowing who or what did me in.
