I have noticed that GC server is empty quite often, perhaps a change of venue may spark it up again. I play on 2 other servers, one has a stock and moded servers and the other has 2 moded servers. The F.E.A.R server runs stock with a mix of game type and then a custom map server. Biohazard runs 2 servers that are custom maps with the ACE mod running all the time. Both of these servers are practically full everynight. Just a thought to maybe help things out.

Do we have a web site to visit? I'm like an hour from Peoria, might like to consider this one. Post up if you can.

I don't worry about others dude, it doesn't matter to me. All I did was voice my opinion and now it seems I get crucified for it. Its all good, no problem.

Graphic card settings wasn't really the point. I was merely stating the there are an immense number of ways in CSS to enhance your game to give a person the edge over others. I realize the commands are coming straight from the game, however the countless number of undetectable hacks are not. The exploits of the game are undeniable, its that way with every game. There will always be glitches. I'm not stating that everyone uses them or even wants to, I'm merely stating that there are a lot of them out there that are being used and to me it just seems as though to some of those people the game must have gotten boring. I'm not saying the game is not fun, I enjoy the game when I play, but there is always more than one person that seems the need to exaggerate it. Perhaps you should try setting the server to official CAL rules and police it as so, just to see how things unfold.

NICE LIST? That list of commands and all of the above mentioned exploits is the reason I don't play CSS. I don't have a problem with a tweak or two with your graphics card and what not but I mean really. If you feel the need to run all that crap then I personally feel you have lost the excitement of the game itself. My theory is this with any game: If you don't enjoy the game by playing it straight out of the box, then don't bother playing it. I know its easy for me to say something like this as I am not a very good player, but I think it holds true to even the best players out there. I know some people feel that exploits are not our fault, its not my problem if the producers left a glitch in the game. But why use it. Because using it gives you an unfair advantage, hence the reason a lot of servers try to filter stuff like that out. The GC kicks or bans people for some of those very exploits, just as you would kick or ban for obvious hacks. Maybe I'm the minority here by choosing to play straight out of the box but thats just me. I enjoy the game more that way. Thanks for letting me vent my opinion.

Pat, looks like most of us are good for Sunday also. Come on brother, don't kick us to the curb yet. I use 3.0 DSL on 4 desktops a laptop xbox and wii. It runs ok, I get 30 to 45 ping in most servers. What about Vent, are we all going to get in there to talk? See you guys tonight, and don't worry Tek, we should still be on at that time.

Congrats on the baby, and don't listen to all those single guys. Kids are great, when they get old enough to take care of themselves Like mine---21,20,and 18. I just tell them me and mom are going away for the weekend and don't burn the house down or end up in jail.

We are talking about this Saturday correct. I'm in for sure. Time sounds good too. However, are we going to give this a long kiss goodnight or are we all just going to pop in for an hour or two and call it a day. I for one would like to gear up for the long haul on this one. 4 or 5 hours sounds good with about 2 boxes of hot pockets, a package of chew chips ahoy, with milk to wash that down and then some chips and salsa with plenty of beer!!! Ok, I'm good so are we all going to be there, ahem... HWarrior for starters, maybe you should make this a big GC outing and broadcast it. Just a thought. See you guys tomorrow night!!! By the way, perhaps we should all get on Vent for the night. I can post up the server IP or help with setup for those who would be new to Vent. Would be a lot of fun I think.

Got on last night and saw, Dingy, Bushwack, MadPat, Cannon, Ebits, Ratpack fro KU. Played about 3 or 4 maps, good times.

Well, He lives. I thought that maybe the desert swallowed you up or something. I almost uninstalled UT04 the other day but I thought, no, I'll keep it rolling a little longer. Besides, I feel bad for Pat and Cannon If you guys go on this weekend, post up your names so we can look for ya, providing you've changed it recently here. You know how to look for me---Primus I won't be on at all Saturday, out with the wife for the day, Sunday evening is a go for me. Oh ya, don't forget that FF is this weekend, but I'm not sure if there will be anyone there playing UT of any kind.

I was talking to Hellbound last night and he some good ideas for tweaking the server. HC has not killed the server, it just needs to be tweaked a bit. I'm throwing him all my configs I have so he can take apart some of them and add them to the server.

wierd mood? You gotta stop smokin that stuff dude. I would just like to say--- I BLAME IT ALL ON EPIC!!! Had they not totally screwed up UT3 we would all be playing it right now. Remind me not to by anything else from Epic. I personally think we should take the coin from this server and put in another COD4 server. Perhaps one with all custom maps. Sorry I was talking to Hellbound last night for a while. Its summer, and I for one am going to enjoy it, away from my PC. Gaming will pick up all on its own soon enough.

Don't worry, it will repopulate. The patch also has a couple of new maps in it so you might want to make sure the maps are in rotation. New maps mean more people coming back to play.

You guys play on ThePub server at all. That server runs pretty good. I've been playing COD4 as of late. Once in while I pop into UT and play a game or two but thats about it. Been working on other things lately, like video conversion. Old vhs and camcorder to DVD that kind of thing. Been stealing music videos from launch and putting them on DVD, they turn out like i bought the things. Those I don't sell though LOL. Anyhow, if any of you guys are gonna be around Thursday I'm up for a few games with ya for old time sake.

You can't use that Modern Rcon to switch modes like that. At least not that I know of. The problem with using that is its based off of COD2 commands. Thats what I found out when I tried to use it. Even though it has most of the features needed for COD4 the mode switch has a few changes in it that don't comply with 4. When I had it I tried to change some things like that and found out the changes ended up completely different. You may want to just change it in the in web config. If you change it in the web config you can tweak it a little, say if you want the crosshairs to show and that kind of thing. Little tweaks like that will still leave it ranked. If you want I can throw you some of my old configs if you want to take a look at them and see what you can do with it. I had set up a few specific ones here and there and had gotten some off the web. Anyways, thanks for the reply. Just PM me if you want those configs, I can e-mail ya the whole folder of everything I have if you want it. I closed my server months ago.

You had the server on HC for the last couple of days. It's now back to the way it was b4. It says its on HC but you still have the hud at all time and the kills are hard to get again. Don't know what happened but it was running great over the weekend but now its back to stock even though it says HC. Just thought I would give a shout out.

The Idea of HC is there is no radar until called for with a 3 kill set. Having radar in HC is pointless actually. You can actually tweak some setting in HC if you like but then it isn't true HC. I noticed those thing also when I played the other day. I second Mav on this one. Just a heads up.

I'm with some of the others on this. I only play HC, it levels the playing field for everyone. I really don't think it will hurt the #'s as much as you may think. When I jump in to the GC server without HC, I find myself unloading entire clips on people and they still manage to get away--frustrating to say the least. Any ways, hope you guys go HC, I'll be watching.

Play the single player for a bit to use to the wepons and how the game plays. sprinting and all that stuff, remember, you can't shoot while you are running. It won't take you long to start taking out the big guys. Don't let the ranks get you down. Actually the ranks are not that big of a deal, its the perks that you gain that come in handy. You can jump on and start pwning with the standard MP5, believe me. You have to play multiplayer, I'll jump in with ya just post up when your on and we can get into vent if you guys are still using it.
