  1. If your in the GC Studio 54 forum you can now just click one of the google links for a free download...or whatever link may be up there. I suppose the links may change every so often depending on what we talk about in here. Hope it comes in handy! -Rashad
  2. What do you think of free online music sharing? I have used several music sharing programs in the past. Since I reinstalled windows a while back I don't have them anymore. I used the programs mainly to see If I liked a group's songs well enough to spend money on their album. It's a shame that music groups spend a great deal of time creating songs and don't get money for their hard work. So whats your opinion?
  3. General J

    DJ's

I know we have a couple of guys who DJ on here. Anyone got any suggestions for a cheaper set of turntables and a mixer for starting out. I am not looking to get into anything professional. This is simply for my enjoyment. I have played the drums for about 9 years now, and really enjoy break beat and fusion/acid jazz stuff, so this seems like a fun thing to mess around with. Looking for decent equipment that has a reliable history. Looking to search on ebay for some used stuff. Thanks!
  4. Okay, so i didnt know there was a music section.. but one of my hobbies is remixing old video game tunes. Idonno how many people here can appreciate the fine art of video game music (especially in the older days) but please, if you are or were ever into the likes of megaman, chrono trigger, and other various games, feel free to check out some of my tunes and comment. http://k-wix.no-ip.com/music.htm (My personal site) http://www.vgmix.com/users?kwix (the community of musicians i hang out with) I'm not a pro by any means, this is more of a hobby and a way to explore myself and my talents, i have no official experience and have learned everything i know from other members of the community. Feel free to check out the site in general, there are some *amazing* songs *Edit* as some of you already know, my site may be a bit slow, vgmix hosts probably 60% of the tunes on my site, if you want it quicker, you should try there.
  5. Yay for streaming media! Also for those who who maybe aren't familiar with Nine Inch Nails, language advisory. http://www.myspace.com/ninofficial
  6. It's a radio show on Sunday mornings, usually lasts for two-three hours. The show invites a couple rock bands each weekend. This week was chevelle, seether, and audioslave. Basicly the host interviews a couple members from each band and plays some of their songs from their new album. I usually listen to it when i'm driving back to school.
  7. Some Kind Of Monster Premiers On VH1 This Saturday, April 9th at 10pm the documentary "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster" will be premiering WITHOUT commercial interruption on VH1!! For more info, be sure to visit VH1.com! (please check local listings for exact showtime in your area)
  8. Who's all going to summer concerts? I know I'll try to go somewhere, maybe take a lil' road trip or two. Ozzfest looks mighty tempting.
  9. I have been poking at bass now for a year and change, really enjoying myself. picked up a rickenbacker (blue and white) for sentimental reasons (flcl anyone?). she sounds beautiful. I also have some drums and can keep a beat, though can't do much for fillers. (<---- anyone got advice on how to start learning those?) so, what do you guys play? anyone in the famous and coveted conglomerate known as a band? do tell.
  10. *Edit* guess this should be moved to Studio 54.. oops.. The bands called Zamudio. These guys are from my neck of the woods. Their lead singer was actually a guy I went to school with. He is a crazy funny guy, but I wouldn't have expected this outta him! Here's their website! and Here's their MySpace page. Life Again sounds like a radio single friendly song. Check em out!
  11. Heres my favorite radio station that i'm always listening too. It's too bad my dorm room walls are so thick, can't get a clear reception. The morning show is great. WJJO - 94.1 FM
  12. I was in our schools music program for nine years along with bullet-4o1. I'm in college now, and I have NO TIME to be in band...It's dissapointing in many ways. I miss the people, the trips, and the fun times that will never happen again. Perhaps the thing I miss most is being apart of a great group of friends and colleagues whose main goal was to be the best musicians they could ever be.
  13. This forum is here so people can discuss music. Such as their favorite artists, groups, and soforth. I'll start this out. I listen to alot of music, right now i'm listining to Nonpoint, Candiria, and Chevelle. I especially like The Clincher from Chevelle. That song is awsome.
