Guest zerodamage July 30, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests July 30, 2004 With all the hoopla over DOOM 3, and make no mistake about it, it's well-deserved hoopla, I thought it'd be a good idea to make some inquiries as to the availability of DOOM 3 and other id Software games on the Phantom. So I emailed Marty Stratton, Director of Business Development for id Software. I asked him if IL had secured the rights to distribute any of id's titles, like Quake III, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and of course, DOOM 3. Here was his response: Infinium Labs has not currently secured the rights to distribute any of id Software's titles, including DOOM 3. dwEEziL July 30, 2004 Share dwEEziL Member July 30, 2004 Hmm, for some reason, this is the first time I have heard of the Phantom (I think...might have saw it in Maximum PC or something some time ago though).
Birdman July 30, 2004 Share Birdman Member July 30, 2004 I think...might have saw it in Maximum PC or something some time ago though. True it was in there. Most people say it's a pipe dream and won't become anything else. While others believe it's really coming out. I think both sides have to believe that it will only be mildly successful if it ever sees the light of day. [H]ardocp was taken to court by the Phantom owners cause they felt some of the comments the [H] said about the company were untrue. [H] pretty much said the company was a bunch of BS that was just there to suck up investor money and not produce anything that they could sell. They then went on a lil' attack of the man that was head of the company. The result hasn't been pretty. Site dedicated to the whole mess
Guest zerodamage July 31, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests July 31, 2004 (H) was right in my opinion. They did not say anything that wasn't true and actually pointed out flaws and most importantly, LIES by the company's owner. The future doesn't look too good for the so called Phantom.
