Bubblegum Bandit January 10, 2005 Share Bubblegum Bandit Member January 10, 2005 Ok, I checked out an old XBox thread in these forums and was reading about all the modding. A quick search found some info but after looking at places to purchase the chips, the info I found must have been out of date. So, question #1: Can someone please point me to some up to date information on modding your XBox?(The mod I am most interested in is putting in a new/bigger HD...but from what I read I will need a few mods just to get to that point) Question #2: What do you know about XBox 2 that is supposedly coming out this year? I guess what I want to know most about is will it be backwards compatible not only with the games, but with the conrolers as well. I'm getting an XBox from a friend for cheap, he just doesn't play it anymore and wants to unload it. I have a big TV and sit quite a distance away and I want to purchase the wireless controlers. They aren't too expensive, but if I'm not going to be able to use them for the next generation of XBox, I'm not going to buy 4 of them. Thanks for any and all of your help. I've been out of console gaming since the N64 and PS1. Bub
Hitman January 11, 2005 Share Hitman Member January 11, 2005 Pretty much the best place I know of for modding info is: http://www.xbox-scene.com/ They have a lot of links for buying new mod chips. I've been out of it for a while... I have an Xecuter 2, but I guess the 3's are out. I, and a friend of mine, both ordered our chips from http://system-mods.com/ I have no idea what MS's design plans for XBox 2 controllers are.
