Guest ZDamage December 30, 2002 Share Guest ZDamage Guests December 30, 2002 Mainly with networking. I am on dial up and seem to be experiencing higher ping than normal and lots of connectivity issues. May be worth waiting for the Direct9a version which should be out not too long from now. On another note, my graphics are smoother and faster than ever. I can now go from 2x AA to 4x AA with 8x AF on all the time in CS. silky smooth and very clear. Now All i need is a Radeon 9500 pro or higher card.
Guest ZDamage January 2, 2003 Share Guest ZDamage Guests January 2, 2003 UPDATE: The network issues i have heard about seem to be unfounded and random. DX9 fixed some issues with my Game Voice which it would just shut off after so long and stop responding. It works fully now. I would recommend you d/l since it has also boosted performance. Magruter January 7, 2003 Share Magruter Member January 7, 2003 I know I know, I thinking about building my own. I have a father that gets a great discount on computers and products. Hell we probably have six computers in my family. I only get 30 fps with my laptop. i could only imagine what 90-100 fps's looks like. Probably a big improvement. Asphyxiator January 10, 2003 Share Asphyxiator Member January 10, 2003 For all those XP users out there i strongly suggest not upgrading to SP1. Apparently it slows down your framerate in some graphics intensive apps. Also, those using the infamous FCKGW... cdkey for XP will not be able to upgrade to SP1. If you already have SP1, there is a setting in the registry that will let you fix that framerate problem.
