Rashad December 7, 2005 Share Rashad Member December 7, 2005 Looks like LOTR with kids as the main characters. Is it supposed to be a family movie?
DogStarMan December 7, 2005 Share DogStarMan Member December 7, 2005 (edited) According to the medis, C.S. Lewis and Disney, it's a Christian parable. *Editted - If you want to bash Christianity take it to the Religious forum please* Looks like a killer movie....now I just gotta' figure out if I should take my 4 yr. old to it. Sir Shertown Pimp December 7, 2005 Author Share Sir Shertown Pimp Member December 7, 2005 C.S. Lewis is a famous theologist, he's written tons of non fiction books and these are classic stories with a lot of religion worked into them secretly. I enjoy the stories and I'm hoping this movie is really well done.
mookie December 7, 2005 Share mookie GC Alumni December 7, 2005 Yeah if you've read through all seven one of them gets pretty overt ("The Last Battle" I think); very messianic (sp?) stuff.
Leveller December 7, 2005 Share Leveller Member December 7, 2005 Looking forward to seeing it, the books are great and my stepdaughter is starting to work her way through my copies I got for my 7th birthday, so we're making it a family trip. soul .gc December 11, 2005 Share soul .gc Member December 11, 2005 Seeing it tomorrow morning. I setup a deal at the local theatre for our church and we are seeing that instead of Sunday service and offering it to all friends and family for free. Looking forward to this a lot! soul .gc December 12, 2005 Share soul .gc Member December 12, 2005 Wow - This was an excellent movie. We took our 5 & 7 year old kids and they both loved it as well. It is very well done outside of two very obvious "blue screen" moments. CS Lewis would be very proud of how this was adapted to the big screen. We gave it a 90/
Brillow_Head December 29, 2005 Share Brillow_Head Member December 29, 2005 Good movie. Moved very fast compared to LoTR and it feels like some content was rushed. But it was still a very well done movie. Hope they continue with sequels.
bushwack December 29, 2005 Share bushwack Member December 29, 2005 Two thumbs up! I went with the wife and kids (10 and 7) and everyone enjoyed it. I liked it more then the LOTRs and the Harry Potters, if maybe because I didn't know what to expect.
