Norguard January 19, 2006 Share Norguard Member January 19, 2006 HDR is "High Dynamic-Range Rendering"... ...basically, it's programming that simulates the way your eyes see light, so if you're leaving a house, the sunlight bouncing off of everything is brighter, until your eyes adjust. If something is standing in front of a light and eclipses it, it glows with a halo. Eventually, they'll add subsurface scattering, which is like when you put a flashlight in your mouth, or put your hand over one, and you turn red, and you can see your bones and veins and arteries. Laz.e.rus January 19, 2006 Share Laz.e.rus Member January 19, 2006 HDR..in game terms.. looks relly really pretty and takes your FPS into lows you have never before encountered. If you have a hdr capable card, Id recommend NOT using hdr unless you have a super card. I have a 6600gt. Its HDR capable. But hdr will kill me. I ran it for a bit jsut for the eye candy tho. mookie January 20, 2006 Share mookie GC Alumni January 20, 2006 Does HDR really look any better? I ran it for a bit on Nuke and couldn't notice a difference.
Laz.e.rus January 20, 2006 Share Laz.e.rus Member January 20, 2006 Yeah there is def a diff. Especially in light intense areas of course. Even simple things like the way the light "glints" on your gun or into your eye. Very cool.
