I shot probably 500 pictures taht day, and about half way through I was looking at my LCD and realized the "freeze" photo of a really fast shutter speed didn't do these cars justice. They didn't invoke motion. So I slowed way down and panned and got these.

Fantastic! I'd love to get a chance to do an F1 race. WHat shutter speeds were you running for these ones? Around 160th?

For the first one, were you behind glass or anything? It almost seems like there's some glare.

 

Dunno if you have one or not, but a monopod makes panning MUCH easier. I tend to be twitchier then most people so it made a big difference for me.

I'd have to check the metadata on the originals, I forget what shutterspeed I was using. That was over last summer.

 

I was actually sitting in the grandstand shooting over top of the fence. You can see the blur of two fence posts on the bottom of the first one.
