Cannon Powershot SD400 photography/art/design

I know nothing of digital cameras. I have always wanted one and I want one that will take nice pictures and will be considered "ok" for the next few years. My boss (who is an amatuer photographer with 11 cameras some valued up to $6,000) has offered to sell me his SD400 with leather case and 512mb SD card and a few other things...he said he'd sell it to me for $220.00. Is that worth it?

My first reflex would be to say that's a pretty good price. Assuming its in good condition. Its a nice little drop in your pocket camera.

I got one of these for my Mom for Christmas. Great little camera. My only complaint is that it is strickly point and shoot, there is no manual control whatsoever.

 

Small, well built, and does a good job though.

BAH! I'm all excited about buying it and now he won't sell it until the next version comes out in 2 months because the camera is his wife's and he would DIE if she couldn't take pictures of his kid every hour on the hour and email them to him.
