farmerisme March 23, 2006 Share farmerisme Member March 23, 2006 So this afternoon I opened IE and it would crash everytime I tried to open my favorites toolbar thing. In windows explorer the same thing would happen if I tried to get to the favorites folder. Did a number of adware and virus checks and it found nothing. On a happy note I did a system restore and it is working again, but I am wondering what could have caused it in the first place. IE was working all day before, and I have not been to any sites that are not reputable. And please no get firefox comments.

farmerisme March 23, 2006 Author Share farmerisme Member March 23, 2006 Yeah I will probably reinstall IE. Easy enough to do. I was wondering if anyone has seen/heard of this as nothing I have read seems to have recorded this problem. But no big deal.

Goofus Maximus March 23, 2006 Share Goofus Maximus Member March 23, 2006 I never heard of that particular problem, though I used to be plagued by WordPad constantly crashing. And back in Win98 days, Explorer would crash whenever I changed file association options. There are so many things which could cause this, reinstalling IE may or may not solve them all, but it's worth trying.
