Bubblegum Bandit June 3, 2006 Share Bubblegum Bandit Member June 3, 2006 Ok, so our house in Ohio has been inspected, the sellers are fixing what the inspector found, and we plan to close on the 19th or 20th. We play on being in this house for a long time. So we are going to go through it and pretty much remodel the whole inside, room by room. I'm going to do it myself to save funds, but I wanted to come up with the future concept so I can plan out my network etc and run the appropriate wires while I go. So, here is my concept sketch of my whole house audio/video network: http://www.toddandkaren.net/temp/home_layout.pdf The floorplan isn't necessarily proportional to the real thing, just there to provide a guide. This is also assuming future conditions with children in school (see needing a computer in their room) and what not. Here's some pics of the house as is from when we were out doing a walk through: http://www.toddandkaren.net/ohiohouse.shtml As you can see its a very ambitious undertaking and will obviously take at least 7 to 10 yrs to complete. Glad I enjoy that kind of stuff..... Oh, for the pdf... the red is network, the blue is cable, and the green is speaker wire. I will be running the software on this site: http://www.xlobby.com and the whole thing will be able to be controled from any client computer or a touchscreen panel in the kitchen or my pocket PC through our wireless network.... Bubblegum Bandit June 4, 2006 Author Share Bubblegum Bandit Member June 4, 2006 Yes, we can't stand wallpaper. As soon as we verify there's no lead based paint on the walls it will come down in a flash. I plan on redoing most, if not all, of the walls as the majority of them are still plaster and cracking due to fatigue. Although, if we've got lead based paint, its going to be a whole nother adventure in itself.
