Squire October 19, 2008 Share Squire Member October 19, 2008 Hey Guys, Im working on a Western Digital external HDD for a friend. Its one of those GO drives I think? Well what happened was her daughters kept wiggling the USB plug in the back of the HDD and broke all the leads off on the USB jack. I tried to solder them, but they broke off right up to the connector. Then I had the idea of robbing an old USB jack off an old printer. But why do that when I can just buy an enclosure for like 15-20 bucks??? My question is does Western Digital put crap on their hard drive that wont let me use any other enclosure?
