bushwack May 7, 2009 Share bushwack Member May 7, 2009 So I got the game today, but the game just doesn't agree with my system. I have hiccups right off the bat, sometimes 1 second pauses up to 5 or 10 seconds. Then there's the game lock ups. So far I've only tried to play single player. I installed updated video drivers but it didn't resolve anything. I have no problems running running any other game like Oblivion, TF2, Falloot 3 and I recently beat Bioshock with no issues. System: Intel E2160@3.2 and Geforce GTX 260 default with 4gb ram.
samurai nightling May 7, 2009 Share samurai nightling Member May 7, 2009 seems like the system would be fast enough for the game. L4D is a little glitchy for everyone imo, but if its a constant problem that makes it unplayable, well then I don't know what to tell ya.
bushwack May 7, 2009 Author Share bushwack Member May 7, 2009 Ah, I had to disable Multicore Processing in the advanced settings in the video options. Game runs fine now.

samurai nightling May 8, 2009 Share samurai nightling Member May 8, 2009 I think i have mine enabled, I'll look when i go in next time. You would think it would help performance with a 4 core processor.
Tek-Almighty May 9, 2009 Share Tek-Almighty Member May 9, 2009 The other thing you can do is enable multicore and then try the following console command: mat_queue mode 0 that worked for me...same problem.

Is that the right command? says unknown command Ah, you have to use mat_queue_mode 0 doh! It smoothed out the studdering about 85%, but the last time it did it it was for about 5 seconds. I cant handle that. I disable the CPU feature again, the small boost isnt worth it. Edited May 9, 2009 by bushwack
