Cinkadeus July 27, 2012 Share Cinkadeus Member July 27, 2012 I'd give my left testicle for that. I'm out in the sticks of rural AL with 6MB down / .5MB up.
Aarkovi July 27, 2012 Share Aarkovi Member July 27, 2012 I still don't see how ISPs get away with tricking customers with MB (megabytes) and Mb (megabits). Now people are running around thinking they can downloading 1gig files in a second. It's some dumb loophole that allows them to falsely advertise. (For those unfamiliar with the difference, 1MB = 8Mb, so you're actually getting 125MB/second. Still, it's impressive, and it'll only take 8 seconds to download a gig, but I still think that it's just flat out tricking customers.) Also, as amazing as it is, I don't think a lot of people will make enough use of the speed to justify the $70/mo. When I start production of my animation project, I will most likely get this for uploads to FTP servers (or shell out the $24k for Aspera, lol); but the average person will find more than enough speed in a standard 10 or 15 Mb/s connection.
