Digital Photography

I am new to digital photography, and I really want to get into it. I figure there may be some people around that know a lot about it, or photography in general, and maybe we can all share tips, etc...

Sweet Camera man....I just have a Sony point and Shoot digital. 35-210mmm and 1600 ISO kicks donkey. I have a regular SLR that will do the equivalent, so can't justify the big digital. I am into photography, can't say that I know a HUGE amount about it, but you can run anything by me and I would say we could figure it out.

 

Got a question about it though.....when I use my digital, there is a 1 to 2 second pause between pushing the button and actually taking the picture, therefore it is extrememly difficult to get action shots. Does this larger digital have the same problem, or is it more like a traditional SLR?

There is no lag between pressing the button and taking the picture on mine. If I am taking action shots I usually set it to take 5 pictures in a row and then just pick the best one.
