UnderCover October 26, 2013 Share UnderCover Member October 26, 2013 I am starting to think that my lag may be due to my FPS, it seems to be all over the place as well as my ping.... anyone have any decent script commands to drop some none essential things to improve FPS? I do need to get a new rig, but work right now is crazy I have been home for about 3 days this past 30 days so I really don't have time to be looking at getting a new rig,, I figure when things slow down I may but that probably won't be for a few months so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, UC
MaRvIn October 27, 2013 Share MaRvIn Member October 27, 2013 Right-click game in library > set launch options > type "-processheap" Should fix problem. You can thank Onyx for that.
Biggs October 27, 2013 Share Biggs GC Alumni October 27, 2013 What exactly does the option -processheap do? I've been having very low fps the last few times that I played, guess I'll have to try that out.
walkingCat October 27, 2013 Share walkingCat Member October 27, 2013 The way Onyx explained to me it helps to resolve memory leaks. I'm not sure though. Don't feel any difference before and after.

onyxdragoon October 28, 2013 Share onyxdragoon Member October 28, 2013 I took me while but I found a Reddit thread where a Valve emplolyee posted a fix for FPS drops/lag http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1j93xy/a_workaround_for_the_fpsmemory_leak_issues_from/cbcdktp It helped me but now I get no steam logon at least once per session. Not sure if its connected to -processheap or not. Just test with it on to see if it helps.
NOFX October 28, 2013 Share NOFX Member October 28, 2013 Notice a drop in FPS after playing for a little while? Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up task manager. Kill GameOverlay.exe Whenever I Shift+Tab in game, I usually have to kill GameOverlay.exe shortly after.
