Preacher February 9, 2004 Share Preacher Member February 9, 2004 I'm seriously considering the shuttle XPC SN41G2 Athlon XP System. I'm just curious what you guys think about em that use em. I hate to buy it and find out that I was better off lugging around my midtower due to performance.
Birdman February 9, 2004 Share Birdman Member February 9, 2004 Looks like this one is a lil better than the SN41G2 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....y=BROWSE&depa=0 cheaper and supports 400mhz FSB Bartons. I would run one of these in place of my mid tower any day.
NOFX February 9, 2004 Share NOFX Member February 9, 2004 always thought those were pretty cool. Its kind of like a game cube. My only concern with that is that if you wanted to Overclock there would probably be heat problems, but shuttle probably took all OC features off it anyway. Birdman February 9, 2004 Share Birdman Member February 9, 2004 n3g. They can overclock. Heat isnt that big of a problem. Their cooling solution for the processor works pretty good. In the other forums i visit ive seen plenty that run 2500+'s @ 3200+ speeds. Slap a 9800XT in there and it would be as fast as my tower.
Preacher February 10, 2004 Author Share Preacher Member February 10, 2004 Only thing about the 45g system is that it doesnt have on-board video, I know it has a stigma for not being good, but on these xpc systems it handles really well. That and I'm not gonna have the cash for the video card I want. lol
Birdman February 10, 2004 Share Birdman Member February 10, 2004 Yeah, and while there is nothing wrong with onboard graphics as long as you have AGP, i still would rather have support for the fastest AThlon XP's out. Surely you can find a 10-20 dollar card to slap in there while you save for what you want.
Preacher February 11, 2004 Author Share Preacher Member February 11, 2004 Anyone ever heard of the "Jetway" brand? http://www.excaliberpc.com/product_info.ph...roducts_id=3014 I was reading about it and it got pretty good reviews, but because I never heard the brand name before....
