  1. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gamehunters/post/2010/09/borderlands-studio-gearbox-resurrecting-duke-nukem/1 :luxhello: I'm not holding my breath...but whooho!
  2. Good thing they killed dedicated servers to cut down on the cheating . . .
  3. I am actually pretty qualified to do all that...the pay would have to be pretty good for me to relocate though. I've been a professional tech writer for years, and I have formal education in documentation, proposals, manuals, templates, etc. You sure you don't want to open a branch in Ohio?
  4. Hrm...maybe I'll give COD another chance when this comes out. I keep going back to CS because, in CS, I can actually get a team to work together. In COD4, it's just run around and shoot people. There is no strategy--just run and gun. I like teamwork! I like strategy!
  5. Finally! Get Final Fantasy III also. It was for the SNES, and my favorite of the series by far. If you can, play through FF3 before FF7. It may be harder to go back from 7 to 3. My favorite is Final Fantasy IV (it was Final Fantasy II here in the USA). Final Fantasy III in the USA was actually FFVI, which is my second favorite. Then comes the original Final Fantasy for NES, then 7, then possibly 5...
  6. You can message Yahoo, MSN, Facebook, AOL, ICQ, and a bunch of others from the same app...works pretty well.
  7. I loved BBM, but I'm fine without it too. If you haven't checked it out, there's a Trillian beta on Android and it seems pretty slick.
  8. If you haven't gotten the OTA yet, check this out: http://www.androidcentral.com/how-manually-update-your-incredible-froyo
  9. modern transmissions are "learning" transmissions. They monitor the state of your engine over time as well as your driving habits and adjust things like the throttle, shifts, etc. When you reset the computer, it resets everything to factory state, which means that your learning transmission is in 1st grade again--it thinks the car is new and is still adjusting itself. I'd personally recommend driving it for a week or two and then, if the problem doesn't go away, go bug your mechanic again. Just make sure to tell the mechanic what you're doing. Call them say that you will give it a week to see if the transmission problem clears up as the computer determines the state of the system, but if the shifting is still wonky after a week or two, you're bringing it back and they ARE fixing it. And that makes up another edition of Mav's 2-cents . . . I hope it helps.
  10. I could take the rear ones off for you. Besides, with the suspension and engine in that car, it drives like something with two doors anyway.
  11. One of the geeky blogs I read. I can't remember which one. You have to admit, however, it is pretty freakin' funny
  12. I'm sad to say that I'm selling my car--the only reason is that my wife just got a job that involves around 120 miles daily commute, and we need to get our monthly costs down a bit to accommodate the extra travel expense... So, if you know anyone that may be interested, or if you are, let me know. The Craigslist listing is here: http://akroncanton.c...1913059681.html If you want to know anything else let me know. I'll be sad at losing my 303 hp at 323 ft-lbs of torque, but life is a-knockin'
  13. Yeah, how do you get a refund on your butt? I suppose you could say that the magic circle wasn't properly set up or something . . .
  14. Man, I'd be happy to if I didn't already use my student copy...I'm sure someone here can, however.
  15. They have a one click root already Chrono Trigger is what I'm playing on mine right now--I love it...plays smooth as silk.
  16. Meh, I love my original droid....but Mororola is already changing their tune a bit with their newer phones and have released part of their source code. We will see how far it goes, but at least the X is easily rooted. I LIKE the HTC phones, but they're slower than Moto with updates. The Incredible still isn't running Froyo, and people are worried that it's the Sense UI that's slowing things down....preference is prefernce though, and there is definitely nothing wrong with the Incredible. As far as the emulators go, the buttons are overlaid on the screen...it works really well.
  17. Seriously, we should sell these to support Gamerscoalition! We could advertise with the following: "Hone the tone of your butt! A group of powerful gamers who have mastered the technique of projecting psychic energies through electronic forms of communication can use their powers to manipulate the synergy between the muscles in your butt and you brain. Through a series of psychic blasts transferred electronically through E-mail, we can command your mind to tone your butt for you. All you have to do is sit back and relax while your muscles firm themselves!" "-no refunds"
  18. Pretty hard to screw up: http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/08/03/motorola-droid-x-gets-single-click-root-on-pc-or-on-phone-its-your-choice/ Also, it's very easy to unroot with the same program. No one that I've talked to (and I've talked to a lot of Android owners--it's how I've learned so much about it) has had trouble exchanging rooted devices. That being said, aside from overclocking, it will also let you tether and create wireless hotspots for free....biiiiig bonus
  19. Lol...a powerful Wicca spell! It's magic via eBay!
  20. Root your phone, get Set CPU, and then run an "On Demand" power scheme. I have my Moto Droid (original) running Froyo (2.2) at 1.1 ghz...it underclocks down to 250 mhz when it's not in use, and scales anywhere in-between depending on what I'm doing. I only charge about every other day (vs. ever day without it), or if I go nuts and play a ton of SNES or Playstation games that day, I charge it once a day. It's slick. Also, I don't like the Moto Blur skin they have on their Android OS, I am running vanilla Froyo and like it better than HTC Sense...but it's all preference. The nice thing with Android is, no matter what device you get, you can make the OS look pretty much how you want with a little work.
  21. I like the Droid 2 better because it has a physical keyboard and it is a little smaller...that's about it. :-) If you like the jumbo screen and don't want a physical keyboard, the X is sweet.
