The difference is that most people did not go to win2k from windows 98 or ME. The move to Xp from either ME or 98 gave a decent performance boost which made XP worth getting. The same is not true with Vista at the moment.

Try updating all of you drivers including video drivers. Could be a corrupt driver causing the prob.

sounds like vsync is on and you are quickly dropping to half of your 35 which would be like 17 or whatever fps is needs to drop to. Make sure you do not have any special effects turned on like the lighting effects and what not.

I haven't heard back from DNA lately and I will have my system up for sale in the coming weeks unless he decides to grab my video card and memory. If he does that, then I plan to keep my mobo and cpu to upgrade an existing secondary system that I use for video encoding and the like; it would be a great free upgrade for that system. Otherwise, I am selling everything for a measily $400 combined (without the case). That includes the PSU, mobo, RAM, vid card, and cpu. I am not 100% sure on how it works to be honest, but what I do know is that your cl_cmdrate can only go as high as your frame rate. The higher your frame rates, the higher your cmdrate which affects your registration. My monitor can only go as high as 60fps if I want to keep my fps in sync with my refresh rate. I get nasty tearing otherwise so I have little choice. My system is also limited by the high resolution that I play at which is why I am upgrading; if I played on a smaller 19-inch screen at lower resolutions, I would be fine. I confirmed the registration problem on my end with Norgman yesterday. I do not have a recommendation for you at the moment for a monitor. I am hoping for a confirmation on what I think is correct at the moment.

I just saw the movie tonight. They finally opened the new theater here and I went with a friend from work to the 7:15PM showing. Great movie. One of my all time favorites. I would give this a 10/10 and having seen how great this movie is, I may have to mark down the 3rd Spider Man movie because it isn't nearly as good as this movie. If you haven't seen this movie yet; get to it already.

I would try reseating the CPU, RAM and HSF. In case you do not know (I am assuming you do), that is remove those parts and then put them back in. I would also clear the CMOS by doing the jumper thing or remove the motherboard battery and unplugging the the PSU for like 2 minutes (longer sometimes, depending on the system). This will ensure that there aren't some overclocking settings being used when they should not be. With all of that said... ... Your CPU is most likely dead. Preacher's question above is a valid one but since those processors and HSF can only snap on when put on the right way, I do not think it is that at all. It could have been a static discharge into the PSU but more than likely it is the heat issue that you were experiencing before. Those things are not meant to go 115c and more than likely this thing died a slow and painful death by fire.

7.5 out of 10 for me. The movie was great. The appearance of Venom made tears come to my eyes.... us fans have been waiting for this for over 20 years. The movie had a couple of corny moments but all of the Spider-Man movies do and the moment of humor was totally worth it. The special effects are the best that I've ever seen. I absolutely loved it!

I have the original model of the Tritton 5.1 headset and they are still amazingly great. Until they die or get the point the super glue can not hold them together anymore, I will keep my original set for now.

I did not comment on my initial post but will make a brief comment now. This kid is basically being crucified for basically being an artist. It is HARD to make a map; I played around with it last night. His first amendment rights were basically stomped all over IMO.

This map is a more traditional of a map in the way Train and Dust2 are traditional. I like it; it is a great shottie map.

So he painted it gold and glued a Zelda embalm on it. lol So not worth 600+ .
