  1. The Forums are up. http://www.lunaticsoldiers.com/forums If you have an account and do not remember the password, just PM me in here and I will reset it for you. I like the current theme but something is wrong with the menu navigation that makes everything all jumbled up; I am very disappointed about that since I may not be able to use it. Moding the css by adding padding is not doing the trick.
  2. Stop using my CsLs thread to pimp your Village you idiots! :-P
  3. Well, it is going to take a little longer than I thought. It seems Godaddy had the brilliant idea of disabling gzip or the .gz extension in phpmyadmin so I can not import that database (as it is too large uncompressed). I am looking for another host right now.
  4. I am working on the forums right now. No homepage until someone wants to make a new one. Or I may just toss up some static page or have my webpage guy at work make one for me. I am learning CSS right now so maybe I will modify a Wordpress theme or something.
  5. A few of us are in the process of bringing back CsLs. Basically anyone who wants to join can (for the exception of one) and the website will be back up this week. Lunaticsoldiers.com There will be no CAL team for CsLs. This is just for fun and what have you. I will post up again when the site is back up. Those that have returned as of this posting: ZD Farmer Fairweather Yomamma Braden That is it so far (I think). Sorry if I am forgetting anyway. So if you want to join, just let myself or any of the others know and we are all good.
  6. Apparently the 6600, 6400 and 6300 are going to be phased out for the newer models.
  7. Initially I was going to go with the Quad core which is now around $530 but decided to pass that up for now and wait for the prices on quad-core cpu's to become more mainstream than what they are. I went with the E6420 which is basically the 6600 but with 4MB cache instead of the 2MB.
  8. There were official as of Today. Right now, Mwave.com has the new prices and the new CPU's such as the E6420 Core 2 Duo. http://www.mwave.com
  9. Cujo, how does it run for gaming with only 2-GB of RAM? I have not much liked Vista when I used it and converted back to XP. The menu system is clunky since it takes multiple clicks to just find something that used to take 1 or 2 clicks. Spend a few minutes looking for the Network Connections screen that is usually easy to get to by going to the Control Panel. The gaming performance issue is my main concern. I am in the process of building a new system and may go to Vista. I will probably go the business route as well since I can use the license from my work. I may only be able to use 2GB to start and I am curious if it matters much or if 4GB for Vista is the equivalent to 2GB for XP. Any thoughts?
  10. I liked what Stephen King had to say about this. The article is really short and gives some good insight on what many are saying about Cho's writings. http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20036014,00.html
  11. http://www.e-motionaldesign.com/blog/nazi-robot-attack/ This is by far one of if not the coolest amateur mini-film that I've ever seen.
  12. There is a fairly large number of Asians that attend VT. They are mostly Engineering majors and there are a couple of student workers that I am still seriously worried about who are Asian. I talked to one yesterday and she said that she plans on staying for the next few weeks of class and she will move on after that since she will graduate at that time. The media enjoys creating controversy where there isn't any and this situation is no different.
  13. Yes, that is part of the problem. Our website basically tells anyone where anyone works on campus. We are also on high alert for possible copy cats so all of the local elementary schools and what not have been closed all week. I forgot to mention but the other day I did walk through the media area and there are more satellite equiped vans and trucks than I could possibly count. None of the media bothered me and the interesting thing is that I saw a couple of the media personalities we know. First, Shepard Smith from Fox News is a really large man. You can not tell on TV but he is fairly tall and just a big man. Paula Zaun has aged a lot in the past several years. CNN has warn her right out from the looks of it. I am exhausted beyond belief right now and can not remember the name of that other CNN guy. He has the beard and is an older guy. Oh yeah, Wolf Blitzer. He is a tiny man. I wish I got a picture of him sitting on the stool in his little tent area; his feet were hanging in the air. I doubt he is much more than 5 foot 4.
  14. How did this turn out Lunk? And yes, those toolbars are crap and it is even worse if there is more than one installed. I typically remove everything that starts with "Extra" above.
  15. Some news about what happened today. They opened up the building to a few of us to gather computer equipment and the like from the 3rd floor. Like always, we had to use the second floor entrance to get to the 3rd floor. I will explain why you have to use the 2nd floor to get to the 3rd. The arch that separates Norris from Holden (physically the same building) has the side entrance. You walk in the door, you are confronted with 6 or 7 stairs and a set of double swinging doors. When you walk through, you are on the second floor. The 1st floor is more like a basement than an actual 1st floor. As soon as you walk onto the second floor, the stairwell is to your left which takes you to the 3rd floor which also empties right at the offices that I worked at. As I explained earlier today to a blogger, the killer did not need to go to the 3rd floor to kill anyone. The quickest and easiest way for the 3rd floor to escape is down the one flight of stairs to the second floor. As people did this to flee, they would have pooled into that little area where the 5 or 6 stairs are and unfortunately that door was chained shut. Fortunately, SWAT showed up quickly which prevented any of my co-workers from being killed. What I saw today was impressive. When I got to the arch (which was still yellow taped off), there wasn't any blood stains or anything that I could see. Walking up those few stairs and seeing all the way to the end of the second floor, I could not see any damage at all; there was no blood stains or any visible damage to any of the doors or decorations on the walls. Only 2 of us could go up at a time and we required FBI escort along with an American Red Cross worker. We had close to 40 work stations to unhook, label, and carry down one at a time. Thankfully the FBI let more of us go up after about 30 minutes and we were all done in 2 hours. We had people from across the way at Randolph Hall come help with carts and people to help us move. The number of people supporting us was very heart warming. As a side note, the number of emails from strangers that I've gotten is amazing as well as the number of comments and emails from people on Facebook.com. I can't say I've received jack from all of the friends I have on Myspace. People there are too busy sending spam chain letters and I think my days on that crap social site are over. Anyway, enough about that. The cool thing is that we also had State Troopers, Red Cross, and FBI agents helping us with the moving of stuff and what not. That to me was just amazing. Tomorrow I will be helping set up my co-workers which are scattered all over the campus. Some are in locations that are nearly impossible for me to support right now and I am thankful those that are donating us the space have support that can cover for now. This event has brought all of us closer at my work which is a good thing. I think of everyone as like a second family and am thankful that they are all still here. An interesting tidbit about this Cho character. Ignore the rest of the site since it is political in nature and focus on this really short article and the link to the NBC site that it is referencing. (Also some good info for you admins) http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?en...ection&only
  16. I have some special order Citrus cleaner which coats what I clean with it. That prevents finger prints and the like.
  17. The guy is just evil. There is no way anyone can convince me otherwise. Listen to the videos, look at the pictures. He was enjoying himself. Just evil.
  18. I ordered this beauty. I've been waiting for it to be available and since it is in limited supply, I decided to grab it up. It is a lot more than what I would normally spend on a computer case but I expect this thing to last me for a long long long time. My previous case has gotten me through almost 5 years of upgrades. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811129026 A review of the case: http://www.anandtech.com/casecooling/showdoc.aspx?i=2966
  19. I just wanted to say that last night was good fun. I saw fever on last night and had to jump on. Good thing too since FX was all crazy and The Shield did have usable audio last night. Will have to find a torrent download later or perhaps watch the replay next week.
  20. I am in the process of upgrading to a new case, psu, mobo, ram, and video card. I plan to sell my entire older system at a very low price. I would prefer to sell it all together with the case but I am open to selling everything but the case (it is heavy and would add a lot to shipping if I did that.) These are my specs. 1. AMD Opteron 165 Processor OC'd to 2.25 2. Two gigs of G-skill DDR500. The timings I can not remember but they are good. (Not DDR2) 3. 939-pin Epox 9NPA+ Ultra Motherboard 4. ATI X1800XT 512MB PCI-e Video Card. 5. Antec 550Watt HE Powersupply (Can not recall model right off hand. High efficiency model)
  21. http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...prodlist=nextag found here: http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=496017 It is an Enermax Liberty 620 which means it has 80%+ efficiency and should be powerful enough for a good long while. I picked up one. $114 after instant savings. 89.00 after $25 rebate which expires on 4/30/2007.
  22. There was a hoax apparently in Burress Hall this morning. Something about suspicious activity so they locked everyone down and did a sweep of the building.
  23. I pulled this from a Hotair.com posting. (they've been keeping up with this story quite regularly. You do not need to visit though: http://hotair.com/archives/2007/04/17/new-...d-lover-theory/ take all of that with a grain of salt.
