  1. he won't be designing anything with it, but he will need to be able to view CAD drawings and renderings.
  2. alright my uncle inlaw is wanting me to build him a new PC, his needs are that the computer must run CAD and CAD viewing software quickly and smoothly, namely edrawings. he doesn't need a floppy drive, any CD/DVD drives or Office package, but does require a dialup modem, a 17 or 19 inch LCD monitor, and XP home. the price cap is at $850-$900. get to it!
  3. so I'm making the plunge and geting an mp3 player, ah riovolt how you are loved but damn do you skip too much... so anyway yes, I'm looking at geting a 1Gig flash based mp3 player. the models I'm looking at so far are: Jetaudio Iaudio U2 http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/iaudio/u2/ Creative Muvo V200 http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/store/c...h&item=l1v2001g Jetaudio Iaudio 5 http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/iaudio/5/index.html edit - Samsung YP-MT6Z also looks to be an option. the features i'm looking for are: 1Gig memory, LCD screen, mic for recording directly on player, USB port built in, or really really really easy to carry around adapter, good sound quality, USB 2.0, FM radio built in, storage function that is reconized as a drive so it doesn't require a program to use device as such, and quality device build. other than that i'm not too picky so any experiance with any of these players, or companies would be great, or other suggestions that would fit in with my requirments would be very helpful.
  4. i nomally dont do this but.... "By your argument a water melon must be an evolution of a cloud or vise versa" What you talkin' bout Willis?
  5. the F1 race at indy today was a disgrace to the sport, and a stab in the back to the fans. frankly i blame the indy speedway and the FIA, and somewhat michenlin as well. the fact that there was a known problem with tires at indy from a poor reserfacing job that was overlooked by michenlin is one count. the fact that such a crappy serface job was done in the first part is the speedways fault. and then theres the FIA stating that basicly safety comes second to a sport ruled by the dollar. In the days to come i guess we will learn of the full impact of this shameful event, as well as the far out reaching problems this will cause the sport, mainly here in the US.
  6. anyone here play colin mcrae 5 or TOCA pro race driver 2? i could host a server and we could have regular races if theres enough people.
  7. http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_new...es_art_id=23382 well atleast they're letting him wear 3 socks while he runs around : D
  8. i think i found my next paper...hehe
  9. CBS to show Formula 1 races in 2005 The American network CBS Sports is to give Formula 1 coverage a try in 2005. The network has agreed a deal to broadcast four Grands Prix, beginning in late April, with two hour-long lifestyle specials to promote Formula 1 in the United States. This will give F1 a total of 10 hours of programming on a US network. The deal was put together by DEC Entertainment which recently secured the US rights to Formula 1. The first race to be aired will be the San Marino Grand Prix which will be broadcast on April 24. CBS will then show the events at Barcelona, the Nurburgring and will show the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal live. Robert J. Correa, the senior vice-president of programming at CBS Sports, says Formula 1 will fit well into CBS's racing package. ahh... its going to be nice to see some real racing on network tv.
  10. school work is for the weak, you already know all you need to know anyway, go game! besides how hard can a fry-a-lator be to operate?
  11. screw the evo and sti, if you want a killer car have your parents buy you a 1981 308 GTB turbo ferrari. but then thats my answer to everything . but really like others have said just geting out of highschool you really dont need a 30k+ proformance car, insurance will kill you for one, and two its easy to kill yourself in it. if you are going to race it join the SCCA and do some junior rallys or autocrosses or something. and if your really going to pick between the two i'd say the STi just becuase petter solburg rules.
  12. yeah they have both micheal and ralfy, i'd say get the 1:18 size as they are the best ones, but with a price of 29 dollars each (39 for micheal if they dont miss label it) you might just want one. they make a 1:24 size micheal but the quality below the 1:18s are lacking, and the 1:43 are really just something neat, they look nothing like the real f1 cars, they look more like 2001 or 2002 models than 2003.
  13. was wondering if anyone else here was picking up any of the hotwheels models. I myself got the little alonzo and the 1:18 micheal shumacher, and my gf got a little montoya and a 1:18 Kimi. and just in case some didnt know AutoZone is running a promotion where they're carrying 1:18, 1:24, 1:43, and 1:64 (the smallest two dont even look like current F1 cars that much) of Micheal's ferrari, both Williams, Alonzo's Renult, Kimis Mclaren, and Jordans and Jags in the smaller 2 sizes. the quality isnt as good as Minichamps but then they're cheaper too. the regular 1:18s are 29.95 plus tax, but micheal i'm so awsome shumacher is 39...... but i went to one store where it was for 39.99, too rich for me, then i went to a second and they were marked with the 29.95 price so cha-ching i got it for 10 off. there is a poster that is suppost to come with the 1:18 and 1:24 models, but like none of the stores have those in. and for the record the 1:24 is 19.95, and the 1:43 is 4.95, and the 1:64 is 1.95. heres a link to the hotwheels site with pictures of the models, not all of the ones here are sold at AutoZone, but it will give you an idea what quality they are if your interested. http://www.hotwheels.com/us/search_brand.a...n&brand_id=7745
  14. says it cant connect to the athitication server error 27, but i can get on other servers fine. whats up with trop?
  15. well the board of evil has been sent back to wence it came, and i've ordered a replacement. im geting the albatron KM18G pro 2.0. *edit* missing the G in KM18G
  16. well tried having the drives on different IDE channels, tried a new psu, and tried loading knopix (sp?) and nothing. so its going back tomorrow, thinking of geting the albatron.
  17. yes its new. i tested the ram in my system and it ran fine, havent test the rest outside yet. puting a second IDE cable in tomorrow see if that helps. yes, both slots. fairly good enough, everything i've looked at is correct in bios yup, they've been... well they have been somewhat helpful yeah, but it had all the features i wanted, and i've used MSI boards before and as Kingston is good ram i didnt think i'd have a problem. teaches me to trust a company. *edit* it said only hit F6 for Scsi drives
  18. how do i update the bios, i once tried to do it on my asus board, but it never took it... oh well, im speical.
  19. as in i put the windows disc in and it loads a few files and then freezes on the startup is starting windows screen... and stays there.. i checked for 2 hours.
  20. ok im dealing with the mobo from hell. i can't install windows and it wont boot windows. the system specs are: Enlight 300w PSU Athlon XP 2500+ 333FSB 2 sticks of kingtson valueram ddr333 256mb cas2.5 MSI K7n2gm-l mobo liteon cdrw/dvd WD 40gig i've tried swtiching the HD master jumper as its on the same IDE cable as the cdrw, i've tried different sticks of ram (corsair XMS ddr400 512mb) i've tried booting from a different HD that has windows on it. i've tried seting the board to safe mode, i've tried booting windows in safe mode. i've tried different windows discs. tomorrow im trying another PSU and putting both drives on different IDE channels... if that doesnt work im out of ideas. any help????? please?!??!?!
  21. just an FYI for anyone who cared, or to just pad my post count. the pc thats being replaced is an P2 266, 128 pc 100 ram, and a 1.4gig HD and another 2gig drive. also has a cd *mumble mumber*x drive.
  22. thems their are sum good sug-jest-tyons! i guess i could go up to the 2500+ but the reason i keep going with lower stuff is to keep the cost down, remember this is for people who want to spend as little as possable, so if a 266 fsb will run just as well as the 333 in powerpoint theres no reason to spend the extra $10, 10 here and 10 there adds up. i am parsal to enlight as i have one in my rig, but reading about the 300w one at newegg some people posted having compatablitly problems with it and AMD prossesors. oh and suprisingly i found that ram for cheaper than the pc2100. anyway, i'll take what i have tomorrow for the guy to look at and see what he thinks... hell he was asking all about p4s, video cards and crap last time so i dont think he'll be happy but maybe he'll come around that a 400 system will run powerpoint just as well as a 2k system. thanks for everybody's help.
  23. ok so this is the new system i'm looking at. 24. the first one has onboard video. *edit* absoluty no gaming on this rig.
  25. thanks for the post. i just grabed a floppy so thats no biggy. as for the first MB, i was looking for something with on board video and good on board sound and i wasnt sure if a video card would be needed or not so i went w/ the 9200 as its really good for the price. the cpu cooler had like 31 airflow and 27db sound level so thats why i picked that one. alright im going to make some adjustments thanks to your coments and edit it with the new specs later today. *edit reply to killers post* who makes that psu? i couldnt see a name and i'd rather not buy a psu i didnt know about. the samsung drive has a 11ms seek time and the WD have 8.9 and one of the problems with the current one was its slow seek time so i figured a 8.9 was a good bang for the buck. geil is good, forgot about them. and that MB has the SiS chip set and isnt the Nforce 2 the best right now? last time i checked it was.
