  2. There has been some questions as to whether or not we will be adding mods to the server in the future. White the server will not be able to handle some extremely modded out setup, it can most likely handle a few mods. I have heard mixed reviews on whether or not to actually add them so I figure we can vote and if it passes I can worry more about what to add. To clarify when I mention mods I am talking about true game changing mods, along the lines of Feed the Beast that change or add a lot to the game, not the current small additions that we currently have like /home

There was a problem with the old whitelist when the server got updated to 1.7.9 I have put in a new whitelist and have added what I believe to be all the currently whitelisted people. if you are not white listed and you believe this to be in error please post and I will add you as soon as I can. we can also use this the be the new white listed thread. Follow the above rules and you shouldn't have any problems... but since this thread is specific to the Minecraft server, here are a few additional rules: * no intentional killing of other players without consent * no stealing or destroying other players' items or animals * no griefing Thanks, and happy mining!
  4. Server has been updated to 1.7.9 there doesn't seem to be any issues with the update mods not working: Multiverse if there are any bugs or whatnot please feel free to post or send me an IM and I will deal with them as soon as I can

  6. I will be bring the minecraft server down on Tuesday May 6 in an attempt to fix the broken chunks... The server may be down for a few hours... I will post when it's all done

  8. WARNING....DO NOT GO TO X 6000 Z 4250 through X 7000 Z 5300 These are corrupted chunks and will kick you from the server and will also prevent you from rejoining. a fix is being looked into and I will post when the chunks are safe to reenter.

  11. yup its multiverse, so gonna have to leave it off the server until they update it, hopefully they bring it out soon, I know they have been working on it for a while.

  13. I figured with the new server I would start a new updates thread. First I would like to list the plugins on the server and a couple of the useful commands associated with them. Dynmap Chest Lock - use (/chest lock) to lock a chest your looking at, must lock both sides of a double chest. world edit - Admin only Multiverse HomeSpawnPlus - /sethome, /homedelete, /spawn (wis, Creative, Survival) you can have up to 2 homes per world. multiInv Openinv - Admin only if you have any questions comments or problems with any of these plugins feel free to let me know and I will see what I can do. I have whitelisted just about everyone, if I did happen to miss anyone please post your minecraft name so that I can add you, I have also op'ed admins, if I missed you same thing lemme know. this server will be getting updated to 1.8 when there is a solid bukkit build for it, some of the addons have been updated in anticipation for that move as there will be a new UUID system for naming. as a final note on this post just a couple of quick rules: Please do not build at spawn. there is orange wool corner markers please try to keep outside of that. Please keep farms spread out, try to only have 3 or so farms per player loaded area. try to limit open redstone clocks and please be on and active if you are using them, if your afk, turn off your clocks. With entity farms try to keep the entity count less than 300 for the total loaded chunk area, and if you do afk make sure there is an auto-kill mechanism setup. The server has a 5 hr afk kick timer, so that afk player don't hinder active players. eg. passing nighttime by hopping in a bed Of course all standard GC rules are still there, no swearing, tking griefing ect.   14. I can place some grass blocks for ya when I'm on tolge, that will jump start the grass spreading
  15. There is on mod that say it's out of date but it is working so just have to ignore the red text... I will post a list of relevant mods and new commands associated with them when I get home
  16. I have just stopped the old server so that it isn't accessed, I might be able to look threw the server files and recover anything built after 10pm but there is absolutely no guarantee I will be able to recover that data accurately. Hopefully the server move will be fairly quick
  17. I have tried to explain this multiple times and for some reason the point seems to keep getting missed, I am not just looking at your base Zrtmiles. I have move my own base, splitting it up into 5 different bases over 200 blocks away. I have killed off animals at my own farms, chicks farms, cats farms and another sheep farm, so yours is not the only one. I understand that you would like to have everything in the same area as that is how minecraft chunks work. the issue is that there are so many things in such a small area that the resources on the server are being used up on that area. I was able to virtually crash a server by my self with about 500 animals and a small redstone clock and that server was mob free and only have 2 people on it. the issue with some of your farms is also that tolge is on literally 24/7 so you might as well have built in the spawn chunks. this effects the server for everyone, and without an admin on to kick an afk, if it does start getting laggy nobody can do anything about it. I do understand that the multiverse has also put strain on the server, but the strain from that is mostly on the ram as opposed to the cpu. the entity count has a direct effect on the cpu and thus is the problem. I have been moving everyone and have been limiting the farms on a server in a given area to help ease the load on the server so that when multiple people are on they too can enjoy the server. when I killed your cows, you had 2 mob spawners, and iron farm, around 50 sheep 50 chickens and close to 200 cows in just simple entities reaching up to around 600 in total. So again I am not singling you out I am just trying to make the server as playable as possible for everyone. Also with the moves, I am trying to make it as easy as possible, I will contruct simple structures and even respawn the animals in the other location. I kept all the items from the killed animals in chests for you and have respawned the animals in the new location as well as constructed a simple pen and lit the area.

  19. One more thing to note. For a couple days the server was crashing to to overloaded CPU usage since stopping some farms and moving structures there hasn't been another problem since.
  20. That's odd had a lot of people on yesterday with no issues at all and I was doing just fine later in the evening. Who all was on at the time (I know I was afk at my iron island) there might still be a need to move some additional structures if they are causing problems. Also while putting the old world as creative has used additional resources it wasn't until some of the larger entity areas were loaded that we truly had issues. As mentioned I moved everything of mine to ease load, I will look into other bases to see if they are also causing extra strain and move parts of them if needed.
  21. with some further review it looks like bigger bases, mine as well as a couple others that have a lot of farms in a small area seem to also hamper the server, I have moved my base into parts in order to alleviate stress from my end and I may need to relocate a few other parts of peoples bases depending on the toll they present to the server. with just a couple people on there isn't much issue but with 12 people and a bunch of farms all running at the same time, the server doesn't like that
