  1. This Saturday, 11pm eastern, I will simultaneously create 4 withers. That's right, four. Everyone is invited to attend and slay the heck out of these bad boys with me. I'm hoping we can get enough people to take them out on our own, but if not, I'll throw down some iron golems to aid our efforts. I fully expect people to die, so, there will be beds so everyone can stay in the fight until the end. PS - I'm planning on keeping the nether stars for myself, so, don't expect compensation besides the thrill of the fight. I could kill these individually w/ the help of iron golems, I just think it'll be a lot more fun to do it in a group setting. I'll see you then people!
  2. That's exactly my point? You're just striking me as a fair weather friend to democracy. This time, the vote is going your way, and you're all smiles about democracy. Last time, it didn't go your way, and you just rejected the vote. The fact that you're acting so differently depending on whether or not the majority swings your way or not is what's bothering me here.
  3. I did not say that in a rude or derisive manner. I simply stated what happened on that thread. If it didn't happen it would be uncalled for. It did happen. I would've quoted you directly, but that thread was deleted.
  4. Lock it when votes are still changing? O...k... that's fair.
  5. Are you actually equating a time consuming build which cleverly utilizes the game's spawning mechanics to a mod which fundamentally alters the game? This is just something we give to people and are like "hey, we know they didn't make the game this way, but we're doing it anyways." An iron golem farm, just like xp farms, have been around for numerous game releases, if the creators didn't want these in survival, they wouldn't be possible in survival anymore. The majority seems to be shrinking. This vote started off with nothing but votes for survival & creative, but now your lead is down to three votes. I'd say it's probably because the vote is a bit misleading. I for one picked both on my first vote because I thought it was just about adding plugins generally, then I realized it was solely about /home and changed my vote. (Reading the title made me skim the questions). I know volcanic did the same. Also, last time you put up a vote, and it didn't go your way, you put your foot down and said you were ignoring the majority because the server WOULD have creative, end of story. So, I take your focus on democracy with a spoonful of salt.
  6. It also wouldn't hurt anyone to create an infinite diamond machine, or to give anyone flying, according to your logic, but it sure takes the effort out of playing on survival. While we're at it, let's give an invincibility option. Because who cares about whether or not mistakes lead to death. The point is that you're using flawed logic here, sure it doesn't directly harm anyone to add these things, or the ones I mentioned, but it does go against the way the game was meant to be played. Protect your things w/ claims, I guess, but an easy mechanism to escape any problems you get yourself into, that belongs in a creative world.
  7. Yay selective reading. I also said that I don't think your intent was to humiliate/target baloosh... I just think this thread really isn't going anywhere productive. That's all.
  8. Agreed w/ chick. Also, if it matters, I also don't think baloosh's kid would've gone far enough out to find/loot your place, and when I looked at his stuff there wasn't much left after the returns already made. I'd say post a list of what went missing, and then lock the thread.
  9. I don't think he was trying to shame/directly blame you... he just wanted you to weigh in since your son was mentioned. Just my 2 cents.
  10. I'm not against the plugin, just against the idea of it being an instant escape mechanism.
  11. I guess I didn't think there was drama over this, just trying to figure out a solution that keeps the survival world from turning into a "tp & hide" server. Why put the difficulty to hard if you're just gonna let people teleport the second they take dmg?
  12. In order to keep the world equal and in people's preference? That's like asking why we don't have a button to get infinite diamonds, but "just don't use it if you think it goes against the spirit of survival!" I have no problem with it existing if it's wanted, I'm just saying an instant-safety command goes against the spirit of survival, so a vote doesn't seem like too much to ask.
  13. I didn't find anything in a 2 minute long google search, so it obviously doesn't. Anyways, I don't think it'd be too hard to mod the config file for the current /home mod & set a delay on it, perhaps one that makes any movement cancel the action.
  14. So, I've decided to have a competition... effective immediately. Too Long, Won't Read? The rules are pretty simple, you come to my castle, pick an open spot, build something awesome, win prizes. Readysetgo. Where to Build? Build on the walls, build on the ground, build in the air, I don't really care, just don't do anything too drastic to what's already in place. There are signs in place that tell you where you can/can't build... you can build almost anywhere except for two rooms - one on the second floor, one on the third - and the side passages. If you want to reserve an area, though, change the sign in front of it to list "Closed for 'Name'" If you see a spot you want that isn't clearly labeled, it's likely that you're welcome to build there, but check with me first. You're also welcome to build above my castle, decorate the outside walls, or work in the areas surrounding my castle, if you want to make something large. Underground is fine too. Do what you want, but working within the castle is best if you want to focus on something smaller. But My Resources Are Mine?!@# I'll do my best to help fund/provide for your work, within reason. Either I'll get resources for you, or I'll pay you for what you used from your own stockpiles. Now, for the PRIZES. All participants are guaranteed: - 50 Books (enough for an enchanting area & some books to spare) - Half stack of iron blocks (probably three) Top competitors will receive additional prizes distributed from the following prize pool: - 5 Stacks of diamonds - 5 stacks of iron blocks (45 stacks of iron) - Two silk touch books - Feather Falling 4 Book - Any one weapon/tool/piece of armor in my collection - Stuff like horse armor, records, and the like -- And, if I'm truly impressed with what you've created, my beacon is a potential prize. (Guaranteed to come with enough iron to build a decent pyramid). That's It? Well, I think there are some pretty good offers there, but the prize pool can be increased, depending on the quality (and quantity) of entries. If you want something specific that I don't have listed, get in touch... chances are I can get it for you. (Aka: Misc items are also in the prize pool, but only by request. These prizes are based on what I have available now, and I'll be playing all month, so things can only get better for competitors. I don't want everything going to two people who build something without any real competition, but if ten people actually put in some real effort, I'll do my best to adjust the prize pool accordingly. Expect good entries to be rewarded fairly, I'll leave it at that. Teams? Working in teams is allowed, and you are allowed multiple entries, but you may only reserve additional slots after your first build is complete and everyone has had a little time to choose an area (probably about a week). How the Heck Do I Get There? The bridge to my castle can be found at around -240x, 200z in the overworld. Otherwise, just look west of the portal to spawn in the nether and follow the rails upward to my nether portal. How Long We Got? The competition will last at least two weeks, I'm leaning towards a month. That's not because I expect perfection, it's just to give everyone a decent amount of time to work. Get building ladies.
  15. As I said, I wish we didn't need claims, but I agree that we probably do. As far as /home, considering how close together everyone is right now, I think the visiting argument is silly. I can get to anyone's place by traveling like 100 blocks max in the nether, and vice versa.
  16. Yes Radio, there is a command that teleports people back home whenever they want. All they have to do is type /home. It was on the old server, and I personally found it took a lot of thrill out of the game. Certain parties really want it back, but, I think it should just be left for the creative world, once established. Although I'd be fine with it if it was only available after 5 seconds of not taking damage, or when enemies aren't around, or something like that. Edit: @Dude, getting lost is what F3 is for, but I agree that it *can* be handy for claims.
  17. I don't think it has anything to do with them being women. Bad judgement is bad judgement... men drive stupid all the time.
  18. As opposed to a psychological battle of hugs?
  19. Not sure we need /home. Kind of goes against the spirit of the game when you can just tele out of lava. We shouldn't need claims, but sadly, we seem to.
  20. Some people like to break rules, and they often get away with it. Sheep farm might have been me, though. I bred a few extra black sheep there when I was working on the ender ender.
  21. I love this game; this, 7 wonders, and Munchkin are three of my all-time favorites. Play them all right meow.
  22. I'd be game. I'm a but rusty myself though.
  23. I think the anvils are in one of the reserved chests. Probably the ones in the path up to the xp area. As far as minecarts, you get to pick two chests for yourself anyways, so why not just stash them there? Otherwise there are ender chests there as well, so you could access them that way.
  24. I think people have been off because of fragfest. I know biggs, cat, and renegade at the very least were all playing on an alternative, modded server for the duration of fragfest. Before FF there was at least 5-7 people on every night, hopefully it picks back up!
  25. I've been trying to let people know as I see them, but I might not be on too much for a while so I figured I'd make a post. The endermen xp farm (aka: the ender ender) is now open! To access it, go through the nether portal at spawn & follow the directions from there, otherwise the entrance to the stronghold is at about 730x, 730z in the overworld. Everyone gets two chests in the ender ender (they must be two that are together, veritcally). The four chests (two sets) next to the left anvil are reserved, as are the ones in the hallway between the main room & the xp farm. Please be careful not to break anything, and donate iron if you use the anvils a lot. There are 3 spares there for now, though. A farm and ender pearl removal system will be added soon, but bring your own food for now!
