I think PCI-e and Nforce4 boards are going to own. The ASUS SLI board looks sick but your going to be paying a pretty penny just for the board alone. Its ur choice. I spent 1200 on my rig and its a pretty high tier computer which I can't even use yet. Really your choice but those SLI boards are going to own a lot.

I'm just using regular XP Pro. Pointless to use 64-bit now IMO. I haven't even built the stupid thing yet. Second Mobo I ordered had a dead AGP slot. I kind of give up on the thing and just want to throw it out the window ;_;. After waiting a month to have a new machine I can't even have it yet after getting 2 busted mobo's

Yea NP. You should check out Ferry Corsten - Live at Avalon if it ever replays on the DI regular trance channel. Its an amazing set which I should have gone to in the city but was chillin by my boys house with a bunch of people. STUPID ME ;( ETS is very nice. I think I might be going to AVB in 2 weeks here in the CITY. PVD is playing New Years Eve here. Its going to be SICK.

A serious question to all you MMORPG players(EQ/2, WoW, Lineage, city of heroes etc..) Why do you guys choose to pay a monthly fee just to play a video game? Are there rewards given by the game company for you having the best character or is it just bragging rights on dif servers/forums that you play more than them and are the best? Whats the difference between playing with ur friends in CS vs. EQ or WoW? Your right you can't compare, 2 totally dif genres but just use it as a small example. I'm honestly not trying to bash you for paying monthly for a video game its your money, I'm just trying to see some logic behind throwing more money into a game company after you purchase the game already. Please serious answers only. Last I saw, it was illegal to sell a acct. on ebay after the massive influx of EQ characters being sold and Diablo 2 accts. being sold(Maybe theres forums out there that promote this and you can get money, who knows). I dunno if its changed so if it is I apologize. My favorite series, Final Fantasy, I refused to play 11 because it WAS an MMORPG and I refused to pay monthly for a video game. *I edited the part bout ebay. Sorry for any problems

Paying monthly for games is absolutely the worst thing god ever created. You get nothing out of it except the satisfaction your character is good and can kill high lvl things. No prizes are awarded. HL2 > ANY mmorpg.

DI is boring LoL, allthough chillout trance isn't TOO bad. I'm more for Hard, vocal, and some regular. http://www.ets-global.org That should be it. They have nice 192kb streams also. Lots of Live sets from AVB also

Its above here in this post man. Post #14 has what I bought with prices. Price of the vid card went WAY up(About 50 bucks). Price of the chip came down. Just read through the beginning parts as the end is more my problems with the thing.

So I got credited for the MSI board. I didn't think I was but I did so I'm in the process of waiting for my new one. Seems I'm going to go back with ASUS(Whats in my system now and have never had problems). http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-131-510&depa=1 Thats it, Its VIA chipset but have done a lot of research and people seem to stand-by this board. Some have even claimed it outperforms the MSI when it came to 3dMark05 scores(A guy had the same rig in an MSI setup and Asus and the Asus almost scored 1000 points higher). Chip should be processed for a repair by tommorrow or Wednesday. Hopefully I'll have the thing running Friday :crosses fingers:.

Great smoothness your going to have to look into a x800/Pro/XT. Those are THE cards for HL2 and other DirectX games. They also run OpenGL games well, but not as good as the NVidia's in that aspect. The problem also is that card is PCI-Express, that motherboard isn't a PCI-E board. I don't believe they are incorporating PCI-E until the nforce4 motherboards come out and that will be mucho dinero so I'd really look into a x800, or if money doesn't allow you, a 9800Pro will run it well, but possibly not at the smoothness you want if you want to have a high resolution with some special features enabled(1024, 1280). As far as chip, you can't really go wrong with the A64, problem is your looking at the cheaper 754-pin chips. I believe AMD is phasing those out for the newer 939-pin chips so in the future if u want to just upgrade your chip you may have a tough time doing it. If you add your old hard drive and CD drive from your old computer, that can save you some money and you can add it towards your video card. I would definately look into 1 gig of ram, its almost standard these days and will really help the computer a lot. Dunno if that ram is good tho, gurus will know. I also think the monitor is very overpriced, you can't really say no to your parents but you can find a very nice CRT monitor for cheaper than that these days. Can't argue with the mom's though :/ I spent $1176 for my new rig(Which is still MIA because I'm waiting for a new mobo) I also had a DVD-RW already and hard drives so I saved money there and also was using my old monitor which can all save you money and help towards the beefier parts of the system. I was able to get a MSI Neo2 Platnium K8N nforce3 - mobo a64 3500+ 939-pin - chip x800XT 1 gig Twinmos ram(Don't see it on newegg ne more :/ ) Mid-Tower ATX case New powersupply Enermax Noisetaker 480Watt. See what you can scrounge up from the old computer, it'll definately save you some money.

The FX series was not a very good line of cards at all J. Nvidia knew it and so did ATI. Your better bet would be to go for a 9800Pro or 9700Pro.

Out in the country side are harley's and dirt bikes. There are some speed bikes in Los Santos also.

My first shipment with newegg went flawlessly. Got some stuff in 2 days, others in about 4(Shipped from cali). I call it a successful first buy from there =]

Looks like I also have to RMA the chip. As I was taking everything out of the system, the chip had a tough time coming out(I put some arctic 5 on it for a better heat thing). Mucho problems taking it out and noticed some of the pins were bent. Well looks like I have to wait even longer for this thing to be up and running(Past the release date of HL2 ), tempted to give it to a pro so I don't mess up again and can actually have the thing working.

Well we've raised the white flag. Every possible thing we have tried and we still can't get windows to install on the friggin thing. I'll list what we tried Installing normally partition - nothing, Install on the other drive - nothing, Have my old 13 gig HD trying to install - nothing, put one of the 160's in his rig and partitioned it, put it back into our computer windows copied the files then would go on endless rebooting and wouldn't install. Tried every possible thing and nothing. I DON"T think 2 hard drives are bad, don't think 3 IDE cables are bad. Our last solution is RMAing the board with Newegg. Has anyone ever done this procedure before?

I'm using the MSI KN8 Neo2 Platnium board. I figured that SP needs to be installed to recognize the bigger hard drives. I can't even get windows installed on the machine, can't partition it, can't quick or full format the full thing so I can't even get windows on to install SP. I'll hopefully try and update the bios on the MOBO before trying to install windows. We are really at a loss for suggestions.
