pimp, in xp you can go into the network connections and dbl click. in there there is a add icon to task bar. when it's on the task bar you can right click the icon (two little monitors by the time) and select repair. however if it is timing out quickly there is a way to set how a no-activity timer cuts you off. You'll have to dig to find it but there are timers. aug

cong, I agree about the dual application. I always marvel at how a prophecy can be so directed at a person or people in it's time and yet be totally directed at a person or people thousands of years later. I agree with you on rev and the 7 churches. It's kinda like the great commission. It was a direct instruction to the 11 but yet is applicable to all who follow. While it does not mean every follower will go unto every nation it does mean we as a community of people will reach other nations. So it extends beyond just the men he's talking to. Much like rev. I believe it extends beyond the ones it's written to. It has a Direct application for us I believe. about the women pastors this is where I struggle with reading scripture as a law book. What would or does God think of churches that have women pastors. I am not convinced God would be angry at them. If he is then indeed we do read the bible as a book of law. I guess the question I've been wondering is what makes an instruction a MUST and what makes another instruction OPTIONAL? its actually not not an imager as in camera but rather printers. He works for Ricoh but gets contracted via richo for minolta, nikon and linotronic for image setters. I guess saying imaging sounds more like cameras huh? But actually their high end printers that print to film. He works on other stuff but thats what we always talk about cause I used to print to film when I was doing DTP. aug

I'm asking cause I see it as both. I see people treat it as a book of law using this verse to prove this point. I myself agree with that to a degree but then I find myself and other being too legalistic. If I say well God is communicating to us in stories (parables) and real events being written down by people then how do we know what is law and what is not. For example women being pastors, secular music, counter striking. some people I know frown on all these things and use the bible to prove that they are all sins. I get a bad sense of using the bible this way. Anyone familiar with this? Aug

how do they know that? Did moses start the monestary? Did some jews write that moses took em back to the very bush and point at it and say "thats the one!" I have reservations of shrouds, burning bushes and arks they claim they find. I can say that they don't even know where the tomb Jesus was buried it with 100% assuredness. That was only 2000 years ago. The Jews don't even know EXACTLY where the temple was in Jerusalem. They believe it was near or under some muslim temple (dome of the rock) but they don't know for sure. The jews seem to not know what happened to the ark, although it's believed to be in ethiopia. So I have a hard time buy the one bush is the one. and that does not mean I believe there was not ever a bush that did not burn as indeed I do. I just mean that I doubt they can point out the one with 100% assuredness. I've never hooked up a mac and PC in a network but I have a friend at my church who does it all the time. Our own church has a mixed network of pc and mac. If you have any probs I'll cut you his email so you can ask him. This cat is brilliant down to low level type of stuff. He worked on comp systems in aircrafts and now works on high end imaging systems. He's awsome. I don't think you'll need his help cause you can probably find a web page on doing it and it probbaly is like 3 pages of simple instructions. But if in fact it's more of a trial then i'll hook you up. Auggy

bandit wav is the preffered rip to format for most professionals. No one uses compressed files to rip to. They rip em to mp3 or other compressions but in their most natural state wav is the most used. Storing wav is what is difficult however the khz is what makes the most diff in a compressed file and the higher the kbps the higher the hz. The higher the hz the bigger the file. Great programs for real editing that bring it to a user freindly level is Sonic Foundry (now SONY) they have programs like CD architect which is miles above the avg software. Also Soundforge which does about anything. They do cost so if your looking to save then theres tons of soft out there for the avg. user. CD arc comes with a DX9 plug in called noise reduction which is worth it's weight in gold. VERY nice if you want tapes or records to go digital. If its only CD ripping then CD ARC is mostly for compliling the CD. Sony editing Aug

ok guys, I did as dweez said and I got some incompatiabilties but none that concerned me. That is until the upgrade was complete : ) yep you guessed it PROBLEMS!!!! the secondary pc went pretty well except I could not use the dynamic update so I had to skip that. I figured it was not too critical and that any updates for the old 98se os would already be in the xpsp2 upgrade cd. The primary pc though, has about 3 known probs. 1) when the system boots I get a winnt32 error; I simply click ok and the pc continues to desktop to run. 2) NIS 2005 is block ALL applications to access internet and when I go to configure NIS I get a error. However the configuration panel does come up but I was pressed for time that I did not get a chance to scan applications. I did however set NIS for auto permission. 3) Adobe acrobat 5.0 will not install. It gives a error during install and the only option is to abort the installation. I will try to install 6.0 off the internet when I go back. as for not thats all I know of. Oh upon installation of NIS 2005 I got a error for antivirus installation however when it continued to install the firewall It rebooted only to find it did install the av. I have not commited a v-scan yet so hopefully it wont crash when I do that. as for now I set up the XP firewall for a few days untill I can resolve the NIS problem. But it's the winnt32 stuff that has me the most worried. I had to leave and I felt terrible that her system was not 100% if anyone knows what this winnt stuff is please advise. Dweez, I will. How long will it take for the test to complete? You guys are better tech support than alot of co.'s I've dealt with : ) The lady had here brother build the pc so its a generic case with a mainboard box (no make). I saw the MB CD and its a 400 fbs p4 so I imagine the cd has xp drivers on it to get it going at least. Should I run the chipset drivers off the CD when XP finishes the upgrade? How bout the other drivers? I realize I can get em off the net but I don't have the MB make or model to d/l them. So I'll just use the CD for now. I only have about 1 1/2 hrs to do the upgrade so I'ts not like I have 2-3 hrs to work. Thanks, Auggy

Ok, I'm doing a service this weekend on 2 pc's at this lady's house. One pc is a business machine for her job out of her home. The other is just a pc for the family to use. I've got the xp upgrade cd's with codes what should I expect? Will I need to re-install mb drivers such as chipset? audio? apg driver? networking? I imagince xp handles most of these but the chipset makes me wonder? what do you do with a pc if you don't have the chipset drivers for the pc. also will there be any errors or will it be a flawless upgrade? Has anyone ever done a upgrade like this. I usually install a new os. If anyone has any expeirence it would be appreciated. Auggybendoggy

guys, my wife and I just rented this movie... Awsome movie. Flippin crazy story and really puts a perspective how we can affect each other and make impressions that last. I thought it was powerful for that purpose. We should get passed things and enjoy the short time we have here. Often I play cs and I look at my daughter and I think I should not play this game AT ALL cause before I know it she will be all grown up. So being the CS addict I am I justify a few minutes now. But I appreciate the movie for stating that we should all take time to enjoy each other and not destroy each other for such mindless small things. Anyone else see this latley Aug
