  1. removing the stock fan grills was my first attempt to mod a case. Added a 120mm and an 80mm hole to a case that only had two 80's. Bigger fan holes Blow, more air Overclock the life out of that 9500 friend of mine witha p4 @ 3.25 and a 9500 pro gets 17500 in 3dmark 01 course its a lil unstable, but he can complete a loop of 3dmark 01 if he had better video card cooling it would be completely stable i believe i think he was like 100mhz overclock on the core of his 9500pro see what you can do he also had his 9500pro flashed to a 9700pro bios cant say i recomend trying that, but it seemed to work on his cause his card is always reconized as a 9700pro now at 9500 clocks
  2. Put a big overclock on that video card and lets see what you get
  3. Iwanna see someone on here with a 3dmark 01 score of 20k after that i wanna see 10k in 3dmark 03 those would be some sweet rigs
  4. I always check the fixes before installing new drivers. If they didnt fix anything that pertains to me then i dont go for the upgrade unless they add cool new features. After looking at the fixes of the 3.10's im gonna stick with the 3.9's if it aint broke dont fix it Unless your valve then fix it for 4 years till its broke
  5. I thought he meant the 5% to be sales tax Guess i was confused
  6. Nice hard drive scores there bud I thought i was doing good
  7. Put us some more benchmark numbers on the stucked thread boys
  8. 19" NEC is a good choice. I own 3 NEC's all together(different sizes) and I like them all One is almost 3 years old the others are 2 years old and Run perfect.
  9. At newegg there is no tax or shipping member that what kinda discount rate do BB peeps get?
  10. the 9800pro with the AMD would be lots faster than the P4 with the 9600XT the 9600xt is as fast as a 9500 pro the 9500 pro is slower than the 9700 pro and the 9800 pro is 15% faster than the 9700pro Good setup and stick with the Abit board I own two N-force2 Abit boards and Havent had any trouble at all Even overclocked, although they are rock solid at stock settings too
  11. Id spend bout a 100 on Processor 80 on mobo and 110 for memory(crucial since your not overclocking) But to do that you almost coudnt go with Intel
  12. Hehe Dont know about that but I would trade you my 9600non-pro for your 9500 Pro
  13. With a limit like that I would spend most of my money on VideoCArd, Monitor, And Speakers(if he wants some). Those are the things that make a big impact on someone that doesnt know a lot about computers. So he would be happy. Get all black stuffs too cause that will look a lil more appealing. The money you have left over get the best mobo, processor and ram (and everything else) you can get.
  14. 250Mhz on a P4 system = 1Ghz FSB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats what a pal of mine runs with Kingston Hyper X PC 4000 Ram and he loves the results
  15. Got 18007 first time I ran after the new ati driver install. 18282 is the fastest I have got after messing around with the quality slider bars inside the catalyst software. 18007 reflects Quality settings with No AA or AF on on a N-force 2 512Mb RAm with a Barton 3000+ @2267Ghz
  16. Welp since I got a new working video card in record time after RMA'ing a Dead one back to newegg, Id have to say newegg is still doing good things for me.
  17. I dont see my 9600non-pro getting 18282 3dmark 01 points SO the 9800Xt was well worth it for me cause i dont think a 9600Xt would have been able to do that either.
  18. Their water cooling is the stuffs I would rather have one of those puter than any other custom built system out there. Course you can get a really nice used car for the same price as a Voodoo so i guess its a toss up>
  19. Couldnt wait for my 9800xt to get here so i borrowed my brothers to test it out Got 18282 in 3dmark and i was pretty happy with it Im trying out 4xAA and 8xAF @ 1280x1024 in all my games i got and so far its been smooth in everything. I can see a big increase in image quality using the setting above when compared to the 9600non-pro I had in the computer. Got to love AA and AF settings at higher resolutions like 1280x1024, however i cant say that i like it better than 1600x1200 with no AA ot AF. Its just hard to beat 1600x1200 if you have a monitor that can support that resolution with flicker free refresh rates. Too bad computers are fast enought to allow 1600x1200 with 4xAA and 8XAF in newer games cause that would be some quality to behold.
  20. Sounds like youve got the software to think that you have a mono speaker so that everything comes out of one speaker instead of two. Look in the sound blaster surround mixer menu, or speaker setup programs to see if any of that is setup wrong
