Single slot, great oc'ing, and runs cool (Sparkle is even putting out a passively cooled version - hoping for Asus passive). 8800GT is looking like my next card. We'll see when Mid-Nov gets here. If I can wait that long.

After doing some pricing on these, it seems like all the card manufacturers have jumped on this card. 11 manufacturers with 18 cards! Of those 18, I found pricing for 11. Price range of $230 - $300. Nice opening day roll out. Cheapest I found were EVGA e-GF 8800GT 512MB ($230 out of stock now) or BFG GeForce 8800GT OC ($240 out of stock now). BTW, shader clock has the biggest impact on performance so if you want to buy a factory overclocked model the best out there is the EVGA e-GF 8800GT SSC 512MB which is OC'd to 700 Core, 1750 Shader, & 2000 Mem (Standard is 600/1500/1800). Ok. So after loggin in, click on Community. Click on Friends then the Add Friend button. After that you have to type in the name of your friend exactly as it appears for their login. Then the next time that person logs in and goes to their Community -> Messages section, they will see your request. But they have to accept it. Most bass ackwards way of doing it (thank you Epic & Gamespy). No clan tags or wildcards. Also what if someone isn't my friend but I like shooting them in da head? How do I find them then? Texture slider doesn't change much right now because hi rez textures aren't in the demo so you basically only get 2 settings. 4 or more is high quality and then 3 and less is low quality. World detail slider does a lot more and has more effects on performance. 5) all details on 4) removes buildings shadows 3) also removes character/vehicle shadows 2) also removes bump/normal maps on walls and ground 1) also removes bloom lighting For all the world detail changes to take effect you have to restart game.

I have seen MotherboardPro.com popping up more and more in OC'ing forums. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Price wise they beat newegg on newer boards.

I went into the local Microcenter today and they had UT3 running on a 42". DROOOOOOL!!! System had 8800GTS 320 & E6700 OC'd. Man I really want to upgrade.

Eye height is off on the player models. I always thought something was off. Some times it would feel that I should be able to jump from one level to the next without a double jump but I wouldn't make it. The reason it seemed like this is because the player model's eyes are actually above its head. WTH?!? To see this in action play a game against bots but don't use your mouse to navigate instead use the keyboard arrow keys to turn (this is so the up/down view doesn't change). Then type "playersonly" in the console to freeze everything but you. Then you can walk around and look at the bots. Find a bot standing on a flat surface. Stand directly in front of him. You crosshairs will be aimed above him. Then type "behindview" in console. You will see that you are both looking each other in the eye even though in 1st person view you are loooking above him. Typing "behindview" again will bring you back to 1st person. Now if you do "set utpawn baseeyeheight 30" in your console, you will see a big difference in the game. Now you are looking at each other. The default baseeyeheight is 38 and it seems like it should be somewhere between between 30-34. Another good way to see this is to go up on Heatray to the full armor on the roof. If you have your baseeyeheight set to 38, it looks like you should be able to single jump to get to it. But you can't. If you set it to 30 then you know you have to double jump. Since the eye height is off like this and weapon aim is tied to it, you can be hidden behind a wall in the game and still shoot over it because of this.
