The problem with flashing over the wall like that at long a though is from what I've seen the flash "disappears" into thin air so we don't even see it in the air on our side and we're flashed without any warning. Might be a good strat since its allowed in cal but I find it an exploit since there's no way for the ct's to react to it except by always having to assume they will be flashed and to move back like we did. edit: *shrug* guess I'm in the minority though.

One thing I would like to add is next time no using known exploits. Might not have made much of a difference but that was the one thing I was dissappointed to see happened.

Whenever I think of the knifing rounds I think of the "Beat It" video. Are we doing choreography for them? I know one problem with hltv a lot of people have (myself included about 50% of the time) is that the fps drop some but we also get double or triple vision. Makes it unbearable sometimes.

Gracias. I've been reading and fiddling a little so far but will probably make the leap and try to make a 4 walled room tomorrow (empty just want to make a 'working' map first and learn the basics). Heh I know I'll have to take my time and no idea whether I'll actually get the hang of it but hey its something fun to pass the time with right now.

To be honest I'm not sure how long this craving will last but I'd like to take a look at possibly messing around with map making. I have a few maps I'd like to toy around with from old cs days I'd like to bring to source but have no idea if I'd even be able to make anything worth playing or not. Are there any good online tutorials for mapmaking out there for source? Keep in mind I've never made a map before, its just something I'd like to play around with and see if I come up with anything decent in my spare time. Any help would be appreciated.

I miss cs_bunker and cs_desert (minus the skywalkers heh). I'd love to see an updated version of bunker over anything. Heck if I get bored enough I might try to actually make a map (though I've never tried before lol).

Not sure how to find out if they're abandonware or not. They don't offer support to them to my knowledge anymore and you can't buy them so I assume they are. I have my cd to DoTT myself and I owned all the other ones at one time just not sure where my cd's are anymore (and some were on floppies which we know don't work after this much time) so I don't mind downloading them (which I am right now... just can't find beneath a steel sky =\ ). The place I'm downloading them has them listed as abandonware but I'm not sure I'd trust that. edit: golly gee! I found it!! it and some others are freeware... check out www.scummvm.org under downloads. You can get a lot of them there along with the program if you need it too.

It only emulates back to windows 95. It lets the games run but they don't have sound. ScummVM works! golly gee! its awesome. Looks like it will run any of the old point and click games great (and easily). I got sam n max and DoTT to run on it so far and now just need to get the other games again. Man I'm so happy right now! *hugs himself* Have to find the all the good old space quest games now and beneath a steel sky and the others. Those games were so fun back in the day. edit: hmm wonder what I typed for it to put in the golly gee in there lol... Didn't think I put any swear words in. heh sorry for that but wish I knew what I did so I don't repeat it lol.

heh I got that thanks... somewhat confusing but I got it to work some but had no sound. Going to try this other program and if it doesn't work I'll give that one another shot.

Little hint... cs_twilight owns me... played it for the first time yesterday and went around 0 and 20. Good map, just couldn't get a feel for it. Its like a two story office. Venge says he's going to switch it to that map from now on when I'm on. *cry* Thanks for stopping by yesterday bigshaw but you didn't stay long. I'll come by and visit sometime (maybe when done with my downloads ). edit: btw any of you by chance know how to get old point and click games to work in xp? heard of something called scummvm and getting that now. Want to get dott and samnmax and the like to work.

Like I said that was my first time on the server but the skilllevel I saw at the time was relatively low. I might have caught it at a fluke point but on the map prior (piranesi) I went around 40 and 10 without trying much. The same went for zax and slyfox relatively to a lesser extent. Even after I left zax went on to get a really high score I believe with a high ratio and was kicked eventually. I think since I have the harddrive room now I'll start recording nightly demos of me and have someone check them out sometime after they ghosted me and compare it to what they saw when they ghosted me. BTW on dust I tend to rush every round I don't have more than a pistol. I don't like that map much but I figure if I don't have a gun to lose the least I can do is try to stop a rush in the tunnel or slow it down and take some people with me. Only person from this server I've played with before to my knowledge is magruter and I know he has some good skills but the limited time I was on it must have been a bad representation of the average player.

One thing you need to realize is you don't see exactly what the person you are demo'ing sees. Your vision is a little behind his. If you've ghosted enough you should realize when watching people jerking and shooting their crosshairs barely ever line up the way they should and I know many times from myself and others who have had the crosshairs lined up perfectly on our screen when we kill someone yet other people who ghost end up wondering how he hit them. This is especially pronounced with sniper rifles. Let me take you through that last round. I'm waiting in spawn for you to die since the spray only seems to last a few seconds. You die so I spray. a few seconds after I spray the "bomb has been planted" message pops up. Being one who always tries to accomplish the objective I ran to where I knew the bomb had to be (not our spawn bombsite). I ran up to the door and without rewatching the demo if I remember right I checked the right side of the door real quick since I was in a hurry (and missed the guy who killed me) and ran through it aiming a little to the left since my next action was to scan the middle to left to see if anyone was camping on that side of the door. I knew someone was on that side I think because someone shot at me and it looked to come from that way or I guessed I don't remember but I thought someone was over there so I was spraying and praying. You've accused me of having aimbot. Are you also saying I have wallhack too? I'm not about to sit around while my team tries to take them out through the doors or around them. I'm going to jump in and see if I can take some out or draw their fire while my team gets through the door. I don't care about my score now or ever. I might find some enjoyment in having a good score but I don't worry about it when I go 0-20 (which I have before). Not trying to offend but most of the people on your server at the time were (for lack of a better term) semi-noobs. Not trying to sound crass but their skilllevel was on average lower than what I normally play against so there shouldn't have been any question zax, slyfox, and I would do well. I don't know if that reflects the average skilllevel of your server or not but I would hope the admins at least would know enough to only ban when people cheat and not when people have a couple good rounds. Feel free to come and game with me on the [DOH] server sometime. I remember owing magruter.gc some lead bullets from last time he was over there. edit: Btw I'm just explaining this so you guys don't ban others for illegitimate reasons. I'll be the first person to say he's happy to see cheaters banned as even yesterday before the [DOH] server went down I told an admin right when I saw a speedhacker on my team zip out of spawn so he could ban him quickly. If I had to choose between being unbanned and an apology though I'd rather have an apology (more for the tone in your posts here than even the ban). I was respectful of you, your server rules, and the players. I've conducted myself civilly here as well.

I was playing with zax and slyfox at the time on their server (slyfox gave us the ip) and they were upset after I got banned and let bigshaw know I was a regular on your server so thats where the [DOH] regular comment came from I believe. You have to unzip the file, then place it in your valve/steam/<accountname>/steamapps/counterstrike source/cstrike directory. Once its in there go into counterstrike and console and type 'playdemo bat'.

No need to plead my case. First time I played on your server (went there because a few doh regulars decided to try it since the server was down) and won't break my heart if its my last (no offense but getting banned leaves a bad taste in my mouth). People can look at the demo themselves and talk to any of the people I normally play with and decide. Just an fyi to you all my handle is bat in counterstrike. Bigshaw banned me tonight for aimbotting. I play on the [DOH] server mainly and to be honest the gameplay level from what I saw was higher on average for the most part. I was polite like I always am and have a spray I just made tonight with the help of a friend and I wanted to make sure it wasn't too offensive so I asked bigshaw to take a look for an outside opinion. The first two rounds I went 12-2 I think and was 14-4 I think by the time I was banned. The last round I sprayed the spray in our spawn because bigshaw told me to there so he could see it. He told me he could then about 1-2 minutes later I was banned without a warning or even a question. I'm told he has a demo (I'd love a copy actually as those were two of the most fun rounds I've had in a very long time... hs heaven ) and said he was going to upload it. I don't aimbot and don't see any reason to cheat in any game because whats the point of playing a game if you need to cheat to win. Anyways feel free to take a look at it and let me know if you plan to keep me banned or not. Also feel free to ask any [DOH] or [DLM] (and zax because he rocks - he made me say that) about me. In the future bigshaw you might take a little more time to see if someone is cheating or not or to be honest and frank since I haven't played with you enough to know your skill (only think I've played with magruter.gc I think it was on [DOH] server) you might want to just record demo's and ask for other people's opinions before banning.
