Ok, just put in the new cpu, what should my settings be for like my cpu speed, right now it says 200 mhz, I can raise the level or lower, it since I just came from a 2.53 ghz cpu, I think maybe some of the settings are wrong, help me out please

am I still going to see a difference even with my slow 2100 now? what about pc2700 will I see a difference with that, and will that be a bottleneck? What Iam asking is, is it even worth the time right now to put the new processor in even if I have pc2700 in my computer, my original pc2100 that I own is in my dads computer

Hey all Iam gonna get my dads pentium 4 3.0ghz hyper threaded northwood, and Iam gonna give him my pentium 4 2.53ghz northwood, and give him a stick of 512, but and Iam also ordering a gig of dual channel (2x512) pc3200 ram sometime soon, but for the meantime, in my PC Iam going to have 1 stick of 512 PC2100 ram, and I dont know how it will do with the new processor, is it going to bottlenect it or something? will I even see a difference going to this new faster processor with my slow ram? Also what kinda stuff am I going to have to do, will I need to reformat for the new cpu? or can I just put it in and be done like putting in new ram? anyway, thanks in advace, later!

Yea, I should be getting more ram somtime next week, i'll see if that fixes my low scores problem, if not it could be something with xfx, then I'll mostly get a evga 6800. I think most likly I should get the score I should be with the new ram

Ok, I have spent most of the day reading all over forums about how many people have the poor proformance with the 6600 GT, basicly people are saying that they just have to wait for a bios update of there card or a driver update from nvidia, I really dont know what to do, I dont like having to wait for something that I paid 230 bucks for, its not fun and its not right, so what should I do? What the heck is happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a driver issue for the artifacts thing, I called up XFX and they told me to get the beta drivers (67.03), I did that and it fixed that problem, the guy on the phone from XFX said my temps are good, these people are retarted, I told him I dont think the card is doing as well as it should. Then he says it verys from system to system, god to bad you cant give the finger over the phone And then I found out that XFX has a message board, so I go on there and I see close to 200 threads containing something around the lines of "XFX Geforce 6600 GT problem" this is one guys topic thread "6600GT -terrible performance!": [REPLY] I would lists ALL the complaints about XFX's 6600 GT card but it would take up a few pages of gamerscoalition and I dont want to do that, I guss its pritty obvious that Iam not the only one who has a problem with there card, Iam returning this card and most likly getting one made by eVGA or maybe another brand, please let me know whos good, BECUASE XFX SUCKS!

its 70 C and 158 F. I took the side of my case and put a fan right blowing on the card, still artifacts. It did take the temp down about 12 degrees F, but not good enough

Here we go, I dont think this is good:

I just ran drive cleaner 3, and installed the drivers, I just played the game and the FPS at the main menu of the game are 100, before they were half that, but Iam getting a problem look: It looks like I need new drivers but I have the latest, it also looks like Iam overclocking the card but Iam not, I started getting this when I updated my mobos chipset drivers, I had to becuase in the card properties it said it was PCI, and a read that I needed to update my mobos chipset drivers to make the card read AGP, I dunno what to do now. Another thing is, maybe Iam just overreacting, maybe the card is doing fine and its the game or something, can I use a program or something to see if the card is doing what it should, I was thinking of using like pcmark05 or whatever

I dont play CS, and I cant really afford a new CPU, I can afford a gig of ram, but I dont know if its going to fix my problem

Hmm, well, I get those jumps and jerks when I first start playing, then that goes away and I get low fps though the rest of the game, does the ram stay in use the whole game? like is the ram usefull though the whole game? or is it just to fix the jumps and jerks in the beginning when you first load in, will it improve my FPS? Iam really dead here, i dont know whatelse to try, I feal like just giving up and just selling my PC, I dont know what to do

Hmm, ic. Well my specs are Pentium 4 2.53 Ghz oced to 2.87 Ghz, 512 of DDR PC2100 ram, windows xp pro with sp2. Thats all I can think of, I just woke up so Iam probably missing something big I also have dual monitors, both are pluged into that 6600 gt card. Yea hes right, sometimes a screw or something can get stuck under the motherboard and short stuff out.

Hmm, thanks for the info My card isent doing what I hoped, thers not to much of a difference between it and my old fx 5200 that I had before, Iam really disapointed, my perents spent 230 bucks on this card for my xmas present and its not what I was looking to, I might need more ram, that could be the thing thats making it not proform well, I look foward to this day for months and it turns out theres not really anything to look foward to, I read the benchmarks on the card and they get like 90 FPS in doom 3 and Iam not even getting half that in freaking desert combat mod for battlefield 1942, wth I mean common, this is just bs, I cant belive it, I dunno if I should get a gig of ram or what, thats the only thing else I can think of

Heh, yea nice to meet you to. I browsed though that list of overclocking tools, honistly I would not know where to begin with what one to use, the "NVTweak (Coolbits 3D)" one looks good, but I really dont know, is there anyone here who knows what tool to use?
