  1. the point is its not a problem with my cooling its a problem with what the temp senors are reading, even at stock my temps are the same
  2. Sup everyone, I have a soltek K8TPRO-939 mobo and a amd athlon 64 3000+ Iam overclocked to 9x 267(2.40ghz) with my vcore at 1.55v but my temps are kinda high, and I dont know if the probes are reading to high or what but my cpu temps is about 55c idle and 63c load, I have a great cooling case with 2 PSU fans, 3 fans in the back of my case, 2 on my video card, 1 in the clear side pannel, and 3 in the front and 1 on the cpu with stock HSF, 12 fans in all. My motherboard is 34c idle, I just dont get why I have such a high cpu temp, my vcore is not even that high, and when I do lower my vcore wich causes instability at 2.4ghz my temps dont lower much at all, I dont know if Iam putting to much thermal paste on I dont really think I am, or if the probes that read my temps are crappy or arent working correctly, also when I touch heatsync its like berly warm at all, its about as warm as touching the palm of my hand, I just dont know if I should raise my vcore anymore to oc higher, I know that a 64's turn off the pc when the temp reaches a certian point. Next weard thing is for my htt ratio, anything higher then 200(1x) I get instability at 2.4ghz, I should be able to put my htt ratio at 600(3x) and be stable, anyway, let me know. thanks in advance!
  3. I have some pictures of my pc here: ftp://www.futuredesigns.no-ip.com goto the Gabes Folder
  4. ok, thats the way I set it up, I have it on like a foot and a half stand though
  5. I got my new case in today, Iam not sure how to arange my fans, the case has 2 80mm fan spots in the back, two in the front, and one on the side, I really need some quick answers cuz I really want to see how this looks, Iam thinking I should have the two fans in the back as intake so I have cool air blowing over my cpu,(my cpu does have a fan and heatsync, lol) and then the one on the side of my case in the clear window its mounted to blow around my pci slots/agp card so that will be intake, then the front two where my hard drives are going to go Iam thinking exaust. the link below is my case: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...=664269&CatId=0
  6. hasent that been out for a few months? iam about to switch to all amd in a week or two
  7. Iam not sure if anyone cares, seems like a mostly hardware forum, figured I'd say hi and post something that has to do with software, so heres a hi and some screenshots of me installing windows longhorn 4074 onto virtual pc 2004(virtual pc has the latest service pack) I guss not many people have been able to put longhorn on virtual pc, but I did ScreenShot 1 ScreenShot 2 ScreenShot 3
  8. k, thanks for the info. Thinking I might go with the p4c800 series motherboard.
  9. Sup everyone, I've been getting poor proformance from pritty much any video card, and we nerrowed it down to be my motherboard, so asus says theres something wrong with it and we can send it back, probally get the same mobo again, or get something else from them and pay the difference, the mobo I have now with the problems is a asus p4r800-v deluxe. what I want to do with this new mobo that Iam getting is, not make the same mistake twice, get a mobo thats good/made for overclocking, and get something thats wellknown and has alot of support for it, I think I want a intel chipset, and of course it must be made by asus, let me know guys.
  10. I would try reinstalling internet explorer, if your running windows xp, goto Start>Control Pannel>Add or Remove Programs> click "Add/Remove Windows Components" on the left of that window, then a box should come up and Internet Explorer will be listed in that list of apps, uncheck it and click next, then when its done I would restart the computer just to be safe, then repeat all that up to the part where you click "Add/Remove Windows Components" and check that box Internet Explorer and hit next again, restart the computer and see if you still have the problem, goodluck!
  11. yea, heh, I actually just started using VNC earlyer today before you said, its all working now
  12. Hey everyone, I got a server running windows 2000 server edition and I use termanal services to log in and manage it, but when I try loging in, I get this error message: The only way I can fix the problem is just doing a hard restart on the computer, since its in the next room over, it doesent have a monitor though, when you log out of termanal services, should I goto Start>Shutdown>disconnect then ok, or insted of using disconnect should I use "log of gabe" opition? this is all in that drop down box that you get when clicking the shutdown button, you get like, shutdown/restart/log of gabe/disconnect, I think thats all of them, please let me know, its getting really anoying, if you guys dont know how to fix it do you know a different program that will give me remote management like this
  13. Hmm, ic. my PC seems to freeze or restart when I set my ram on ddr-400 in my BIOS, also I cant overclock anymore then 3.41 ghz, if I go higher it eather freezes on the boot-up or my monitors just dont turn on, I usally just have to hold down the button and turn the pc back on and I guss it puts something back to default so it works, I have the value select of corsair pc3200, 2x512's running in dual channel mode
  14. well, with the stock bios it wasent there, also with the latest non-beta/alpha bios it wasent there, and now I have the latest beta bios thats out and its not there, and I have the latest chipset drivers also
  15. Hey all, I got a ASUS P4R800-V Deluxe motherboard with a pentium 4 3.0ghz HT 800mhz and Iam probeblly just dumb but I got no cpu ratio setting, look here, these are pictures of my motherboards BIOS http://www.firingsquad.com/media/gallery_image.asp/187/23 They have that setting yet I dont, also there they can raise there vcore voltage more then I can, what the hooters!!!!!
  16. well, I have a XFX Geforce 6600 GT, I managed to get a new cpu 3.0 ghz pentium 4 with HT, @3.4ghz now, just got in a gig of pc3200 corsair ram, (2 512's) these are my latest benchmarks: 01- 13,432 03- 6,927 05- 2,467 AquaMark3- 46,303 Is it time to return the card? So many people have had harrable proformance with this same card, but some have had great proformance, do you think it could be service pack 2? Let me know what I shoul do Also should I set my ram to DDR-400? the system gets very unstable with overclocking at 3.4ghz when its set to ddr-400 I dont know if its worth it, also the ram timings are on 2.5-4-4-8
  17. I'll try upping the ram voltage, what exactly are you saying to put the timings to? there currently at 3-4-4-8, I actually just ordered this ram a few minutes ago, should come by or on this friday http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-145-440&depa=1 the ram should defently get here before the cutoff date on returning my video card, hopefully it should fix my poor proformance with my XFX Geforce 6600 GT card, if not, I'll return it and mostlikly get a evga geforce 6800, I have enough money to get that, but not enough to get the x800pro But the 6800 should do, if somereason I dont want to get the 6800 then I'll go with the evga 6600 GT, since XFX has such big problems with most of there newer cards, most people think its XFX's problems, so many people have problems with there xfx 6600 gt card, its amazing there still in business, do you think the new ram is going to fix the problem?
  18. for the cpu speed in my bios I have it set to 227 and thats 3.40 ghz with HT enabled, my vcore voltage is at 1.648, and my ram timings are at 3-4-4-8, and my ram speed is set to DDR-333, (I have pc2700 in my pc right now) I guss ddr-333 is right for pc2700 ram.
  19. thanks for the info, I put in the cpu 3.0 ghz with HT is stock, its currently at 3.30 ghz right now running stable, I supose I could take it higher, I dunno really what I should goto from here, I may try close to 3.4, but I have no idea like what is to far or not far enough on a stock 3.0 ghz pentium 4 thats hyperthreaded.
