  1. Going to see them Nov 18th at the House of Blues in Cleveland, should be awesome. I saw them once before and they sound just as good live as they do recorded.
  2. I've only ever been to one concert and it wasn't even a popular band. Just a random local band that died out sooner than later. I could've went to Summer Sanitarium a few years back but I had the flu, was still gonna go, but the day of I couldn't even walk. Anyway I was at a live concert for this band who, (I know I use Metallica alot but this really was said), said that they were what "Metallica should have been." It was basically a good drummer, good lead guitarist, crappy bassist and a lead singer that sounded like an emotional Phil Anselmo. Well anyway, this "Huge name band" in the middle of the show were playing their only popular song and they let the fans sing the chorus. Every single person in attendance said a different version of what should've been said. The band immediately stopped playing the song. Like all the music stopped at once. The lead singer took 5 minutes to explain the lyrics and then they messed it up again so they just kept playing anyway. I thought it was funny because it was a band who was self-proclaimed musical gods and their biggest fans didn't even know their lyrics.
  3. After watching MTV (sorry I know it's a sin) I realized all the Rock bands out there are... well... Which do you like better- mainstream or underground? In mainstream you basically play for radio hits, ie, make 2 or 3 singles with a catchy tune and then the rest of your album generate songs to just fill up space so you can call it an album. In underground you try to make the entire CD to be good and get the people who actually listen to you like it. When Metallica went mainstream with the Black Album, it was a good CD itself but it wasn't the same. And now they're up to St Anger which doesn't even have a damn guitar solo in it. So which do you like better and why?
  4. don't do it very often, but if i wanna share a song with someone and i rip it off a cd it presents me with a 31 mb .wma file. kinda large. how to convert to mp3?
  5. I just picked up the new Stevie Wonder single "So what the fuss?" and I gotta say he hasn't lost a beat! If you guys like raw funk then check it out! "Kill the anonymo in counter-strike....shaaaame on you!"
  6. For you techno/europop junkies, I heard there is a new Eiffel 65 album due to release.
  7. here It's acctually only 100, but it's called top 200..
  8. I heard The Used/My Chemical Romance cover of Queen/Bowie's Under Pressure. And I thought not bad but a definte 'downgrade'. I do give more respect to artists that are more creative with classic songs, Good examples are: A Perfect Circle-Imagine, by John Lennon (an awsome cover) Johnny Cash-Hurt, by NIN
  9. What do you think of free online music sharing? I have used several music sharing programs in the past. Since I reinstalled windows a while back I don't have them anymore. I used the programs mainly to see If I liked a group's songs well enough to spend money on their album. It's a shame that music groups spend a great deal of time creating songs and don't get money for their hard work. So whats your opinion?
  10. If your in the GC Studio 54 forum you can now just click one of the google links for a free download...or whatever link may be up there. I suppose the links may change every so often depending on what we talk about in here. Hope it comes in handy! -Rashad
  11. It's a radio show on Sunday mornings, usually lasts for two-three hours. The show invites a couple rock bands each weekend. This week was chevelle, seether, and audioslave. Basicly the host interviews a couple members from each band and plays some of their songs from their new album. I usually listen to it when i'm driving back to school.
  12. Some Kind Of Monster Premiers On VH1 This Saturday, April 9th at 10pm the documentary "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster" will be premiering WITHOUT commercial interruption on VH1!! For more info, be sure to visit VH1.com! (please check local listings for exact showtime in your area)
  13. *Edit* guess this should be moved to Studio 54.. oops.. The bands called Zamudio. These guys are from my neck of the woods. Their lead singer was actually a guy I went to school with. He is a crazy funny guy, but I wouldn't have expected this outta him! Here's their website! and Here's their MySpace page. Life Again sounds like a radio single friendly song. Check em out!
  14. Heres my favorite radio station that i'm always listening too. It's too bad my dorm room walls are so thick, can't get a clear reception. The morning show is great. WJJO - 94.1 FM
