auggybendoggy April 14, 2004 Share auggybendoggy Member April 14, 2004 what is the difference between a 3.0e and a 3.0c and does the motherboard have to support a C version. I'm looking at newegg for 220 for a 3.0c but what about the motherboard? Can anyone explain this
[Mmmm]Homer April 14, 2004 Share [Mmmm]Homer Member April 14, 2004 The "c" P4's are Northwood core chips, the "e" chips are the newer Prescott core. Both are 800mhz FSB chips. The newer Prescott has a little debate over whether it is better, it runs hotter. Either would be ok, and you'll just need to look for an 800mhz FSB mobo.
