Fatty July 27, 2004 Share Fatty GC Founder July 27, 2004 How long will it take me to upload 13 GB on my 1500/256 DSL line? I'm thinking that I should start it when I leave for camp....will it be done when I get back 6 days later?
Birdman July 27, 2004 Share Birdman Member July 27, 2004 Ok Ima try to give you an answer. May be wrong but I'll try. 13 Gigabytes = 109,051,904 Kilobits. 86,400 seconds in a day. Your connection allows for 256 Kilo bits per second of upload. So 86,400 seconds * 256Kbps = 22,118,400 Then 109,051,904/22,118,400 = 4.9304 Days ? Birdman July 27, 2004 Share Birdman Member July 27, 2004 If the above is correct then it still won't account for the fact that you won't be able to upload @ 256Kbps all the time. So I'd say it'll take about a week or so to upload. Course if you aren't using some sort of auto resuming software then it's gonna be important that you don't loose your internet connection as a result of power lose or other circumstances. The following website is great for unit conversions btw. http://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter/
MC_Ranger July 27, 2004 Share MC_Ranger Member July 27, 2004 Let's see...Birdman has it. 13GB = 109051904 Kb 109051904Kb / 256Kb = 425984 seconds 425984 / 60 = 7099 minutes 7099 / 60 = 118 hours 118 / 24 = 4.9 days Best case scenario.
